Leukocyte cell-derived chemotaxin 2 (LECT2)-related amyloidosis (ALECT2) constitutes a subtype of systemic amyloidosis affecting the kidney. This is the first case describing mixed ALECT2 and Amyloid A renal amyloidosis in a Kazakh-German patient. Genetic analysis shows a polymorphism in the gene and a homozygous mutation in the gene.

Purpose Of Review: Recently, initial studies have been carried out in patients using monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) inhibitors. This review summarizes the known function of MCP-1 in regulating monocytes during inflammation and its role in inflammatory disease of the kidney.

Recent Findings: MCP-1 is one of the first chemokines described and plays an important role in renal inflammatory disease.
