We present a linear cavity self-polarizing Mamyshev oscillator at 1550 nm made fully of polarization-maintaining fibers. The cavity filters are chirped fiber Bragg gratings with a Gaussian reflectivity profile that allow for greater reflectivity, larger bandwidth, and dispersion control. This mode-locked fiber laser architecture shows an unprecedented simplicity while delivering 21.

In experiments, lasers generate stable pulse trains with energy up to 31.3 nJ, which is comparable to the highest achieved by prior ultrafast erbium fiber lasers.
