Image-guided minimally invasive radiofrequency ablation (RFA) of sensory nerves has emerged as a treatment option for pain and swelling associated with advanced symptomatic joint and spine degeneration to bridge the gap between optimal medical therapy and surgical treatments. RFA of articular sensory nerves and the basivertebral nerve use image-guided percutaneous approaches resulting in faster recovery time and minimal risks. The current published evidence indicates clinical effectiveness; however, further research must be performed comparing other conservative treatments with RFA to understand further its role in different clinical settings, such as osteonecrosis.

Methods: Using a pilot cadaveric specimen, the center of the radiographic safe isometric area for femoral fixation of LET, defined as a 1 cm (proximal-distal) area located proximal to the metaphyseal flare and posterior to the posterior cortical extension line (PCEL), was located using fluoroscopy and found to be 20 mm directly proximal to the center of the fibular collateral ligament (FCL) origin. Using 10 additional specimens, the center of the FCL origin and a location 20 mm directly proximal was identified.
Introduction: The COVID19 pandemic collapsed intensive care units (ICUs) all around the world, conditioning systems of care (SOC) for other critical conditions such as severe ischemic stroke requiring endovascular treatment (EVT). Our aim was to evaluate the impact of an adaptive Stroke Unit (SU) based SOC on functional outcomes, with the goal of avoiding both general anesthesia (GA) and ICU admission in stroke patients treated with EVT.
Material And Methods: We performed an observational study comparing data from our traditional ICU-GA based SOC and the adaptive SU-Conscious Sedation (CS) based SOC (consecutive patients undergoing EVT 1 year prior and after onset of the pandemic).
Background And Purpose: This study examined whether the 786 NOS3 polymorphism is associated with the risk of hemorrhagic transformation (HT) in stroke patients with anterior large vessel occlusion (ALVO) treated using endovascular thrombectomy (EVT).
Methods: We performed an observational cohort study that included 118 patients with ALVO who underwent EVT. HT was assessed in follow-up CT and MRI.
The cross section and rate constants for the title reaction are calculated for all the spin-orbit states of N(PJ3) using two statistical approaches, one purely adiabatic and the other one mixing quantum capture for the entrance channel and adiabatic treatment for the products channel. This is made by using a symmetry adapted basis set combining electronic (spin and orbital) and nuclear angular momenta in the reactants channel. To this aim, accurate ab initio calculations are performed separately for reactants and products.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is globally the most prevalent joint disease and causes patients great pain, limited joint mobility, and psychological distress. Short- and long-term therapies like steroid injections and arthroplasty exist, respectively. Joint arthroplasty can effectively treat symptomatic end-stage OA, but most patients do not go through with surgery because they are not qualified, have comorbidities, or do not wish to undergo surgery.

Material And Methods: This prospective pilot study includes a total of 12 patients experiencing chronic shoulder pain from moderate to severe glenohumeral OA. Patients underwent anesthetic blocks of the axillary, lateral pectoral, and suprascapular nerves to determine candidacy for C-RFA treatment.
Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common joint disease worldwide, leading to significant pain, restricted range of motion, and disability. A gap exists between short- and long-term symptom-relieving therapies. Although arthroplasty is an effective treatment for symptomatic end-stage disease, most patients ultimately do not receive a joint replacement due to suboptimal surgical qualifications, comorbidities, or an aversion to surgery.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA novel compact device with spectrum analyzer characteristics has been designed, which allows the measuring of the maximum power received in multiple narrow frequency bands of 300 kHz, recording the entire spectrum from 78 MHz to 6 GHz; the device is capable of measuring the entire communications spectrum and detecting multiple sources of electromagnetic fields using the same communications band. The proposed device permits the evaluation of the cross-talk effect that, in conventional exposimeters, generates a mistake estimation of electromagnetic fields. The device was calibrated in an anechoic chamber for far-fields and was validated against a portable spectrum analyzer in a residential area.
