Background: The objective of this study is to evaluate by means of a systematic review, the efficacy of thymectomy as compared to medical treatment for non-thymomatous myasthenia gravis (MG).
Methods: Medline, Embase, and Lilacs were searched for experimental and observational studies that compared non-surgical (drug therapy) and surgical treatment of non-thymomatous MG (thymectomy performed by the transsternal approach). Inclusion criteria were: studies that compared the two types of treatment and had at least 10 adult patients in each group.
The improvement of agronomic practices and the use of high technology in field crops contributes for significant increases in maize productivity, and may have altered the dynamics of nutrient uptake and partition by the plant. Official recommendations for fertilizer applications to the maize crop in Brazil and in many countries are based on critical soil nutrient contents and are relatively outdated. Since the factors that interact in an agricultural production system are dynamic, mathematical modeling of the growth process turns out to be an appropriate tool for these studies.

Sixteen young male adults with DS participated in the protocol. Among them, eight were randomly assigned to the control group and the remaining eight participated in a 16 week training programme consisting of 10 min warm-up followed by an aerobic session at a work intensity of 60 to 75 per cent of VO2 peak lasting from 15 to 25 min, increasing 5 min every 5 weeks and by a 5 min cool-down period, 3 days/week.
