Advances in Legume Systematics 14. Classification of Caesalpinioideae. Part 2: Higher-level classification.

Caesalpinioideae is the second largest subfamily of legumes (Leguminosae) with ca. 4680 species and 163 genera. It is an ecologically and economically important group formed of mostly woody perennials that range from large canopy emergent trees to functionally herbaceous geoxyles, lianas and shrubs, and which has a global distribution, occurring on every continent except Antarctica.

Identification of Zika Virus NS1-Derived Peptides with Potential Applications in Serological Tests.

Zika virus (ZIKV), a mosquito-borne pathogen, is an emerging arbovirus associated with sporadic symptomatic cases of great medical concern, particularly among pregnant women and newborns affected with neurological disorders. Serological diagnosis of ZIKV infection is still an unmet challenge due to the co-circulation of the dengue virus, which shares extensive sequence conservation of structural proteins leading to the generation of cross-reactive antibodies. In this study, we aimed to obtain tools for the development of improved serological tests for the detection of ZIKV infection.

Discovery of a 2'-Fluoro,2'-Bromouridine Phosphoramidate Prodrug Exhibiting Anti-Yellow Fever Virus Activity in Culture and in Mice.

Yellow fever virus (YFV) is a potentially lethal, zoonotic, blood-borne flavivirus transmitted to humans and non-human primates by mosquitoes. Owing to multiple deadly epidemics, the WHO classifies YFV as a "high impact, high threat disease" with resurgent epidemic potential. At present, there are no approved antiviral therapies to combat YFV infection.

Toxicity, cytotoxicity, mutagenicity and antioxidant models of 2-oleyl-1,3-dipalmitoyl-glycerol isolated from the hexane extract of MART seeds.

2-oleyl-1,3-dipalmitoyl-glycerol (ODG) was obtained from (bacurizeiro) seeds. There are no studies on its toxicity and protective activities against oxidative stress. This study was aimed to evaluate antioxidant effects , as well as to evaluate the toxicological and mutagenic effects of the ODG.
