Ankle osteoarthritis (AOA) causes pain and functional limitations, often requiring treatments like arthrodesis, which stabilizes the ankle and preserves gait.
The study involved three male patients aged 49 to 63 with secondary AOA who were treated with a minimally invasive surgical technique, resulting in a short hospital stay and immediate post-op mobility support.
After monitoring recovery over six months, the patients experienced significant pain relief and improved function, with AOFAS scores rising from preoperative levels of 27-39 to 68-86.
