Introduction:: Cacipacore virus (CPCV), a possible bird-associated flavivirus, has yet to be detected in mosquitoes. Our purpose is examining CPCV in mosquitoes from the Amazon region of Brazil.
Methods:: Approximately 3,253 Culicidae (grouped into 264 pools) were collected from the Amazon region during 2002-2006 and analyzed using a Flavivirus genus-specific reverse transcription- polymerase chain reaction followed by nested polymerase chain reaction assay and by nucleotide sequencing of amplicons.
Despite the efforts of pharmaceutical companies to develop specific kinase modulators, few drugs targeting kinases have been completely successful in the clinic. This is primarily due to the conserved nature of kinases, especially in the catalytic domains. Consequently, many currently available inhibitors lack sufficient selectivity for effective clinical application.

Objective: To establish the usefulness of infrared radiation thermography on monitoring in situ liver perfusion with different preservation solutions during liver harvesting.
Methods: Twenty-four adult male Wistar rats, weighing 385.31 g were randomly divided into four groups of six animals each according to the solution used to perfuse the liver (Euro-Collins® solution--EC group; Custodiol® solution--CUST group; Celsior® solution--CEL group and Ringer-Lactate solution--RL group).
