Background And Purpose: No current consensus exists on the best anesthetic management of ischemic stroke patients undergoing mechanical thrombectomy. Both conscious sedation (CS) and general anesthesia (GA) are currently considered valid anesthetic strategies, yet patients managed under CS may require emergent conversion to GA, which has been associated with worse outcomes. The aim of this study was to analyze the conversion rate and potential risk factors for GA conversion during mechanical thrombectomy.
