Inherited factor VII deficiency is the most common rare bleeding disorder, affecting about 1/500,000 individuals without gender predilection. Most of the patients with FVII 20-50% are asymptomatic, but post-traumatic or post-surgical bleeding may often occur since there is not an exact correlation between FVII plasma levels and the bleeding phenotype. It was a retrospective, monocentric analysis that encompassed all women assessed for pelvic discomfort or signs of vulvovaginal atrophy following vaginal delivery between 2013 and 2018. Antiplatelet Effect of Melatonin through Breastfeeding: A Pediatric Case Report.

We present a pediatric case of the antiplatelet effect of melatonin taken through breast milk in an 18-month-old child. The child was referred to our hematology outpatient clinic because of bleeding episodes that she presented since birth. Blood tests excluded the presence of blood coagulation diseases.

Introduction And Aims: Bipolar disorder (BD) is a severe and recurring mental illness associated with a significant personal and social burden. It has been recently hypothesized that increased levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines and cortisol, which is also associated with a reduced expression of the brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), may influence affective recurrences in BD. Our study aims to: 1) assess changes in the levels of peripheral cytokines, BDNF and salivary cortisol during acute and euthymic phases of bipolar disorder, compared to that of a sample oh healthy controls; 2) evaluate whether these changes represent a biosignature for the different phases of the illness.

Background: It is known that some sectors of hospitals have high bacteria and virus loads that can remain as aerosols in the air and represent a significant health threat for patients and mainly professionals that work in the place daily. Therefore, the need for a respirator able to improve the filtration barrier of N95 masks and even inactivating airborne virus and bacteria becomes apparent. Such a fact motivated the creation of a new N95 respirator which employs chitosan nanoparticles on its intermediate layer (SN95 + CNP).

Gliding Arc Reactor under AC Pulsed Mode Operation: Spatial Performance Profile for NO Synthesis.

A two-dimensional gliding arc reactor for NO synthesis was investigated in this study using AC pulsed mode operation. Tests with a duty cycle of 40 or 60% achieved the lowest energy consumption of 6.95 MJ/mol, which is an improvement of 15% from the case of continuous operation.
