Introduction: The role of the family history in the development and prognosis of gastroesophageal cancer is a controversially discussed topic as appropriate data from western cohorts are lacking. This study aims to explore its associations with disease and outcome parameters in a large European cohort.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed self-reported family history in patients with gastroesophageal cancer treated between 1 January 1990 and 31 December 2021 at the Medical University of Vienna.
Objective: The use of certain peripheral nerve blocks in paediatric patients is gaining increasing popularity, although distinctive characteristics of the juvenile anatomy, psychological barriers, time constraints on block placement, and risks of neurotoxic and cardio toxic side effects are still mentioned. Objective: To assess the feasibility of ultrasound (US) in visualizing the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve (LFCN) in a cadaver and 8 volunteers.
Methods: Ultrasound and US-guided dye injection was performed in 1 cadaver to show the feasibility of detecting the LFCN. We then performed US in 8 volunteers to assess position of the nerve in respect to the anterior iliac spine.
Purpose: To describe the sonographic imaging characteristics of abdominal and extraabdominal desmoids.

In order to perform an axillary approach to the central vein as an alternative to the commonly used approaches in patients, an anatomical dissection in fresh human cadavers was carried out.
