Hospital-based violence intervention programs (HVIPs) are evidence-informed strategies to promote recovery among victims of violence. Limited tools exist to capture client-reported perspectives of program relevance, responsiveness, acceptability, and impact. We conducted a quality improvement project to develop an HVIP-specific tool that can be used to collect information regarding client satisfaction with services to inform ongoing and future program improvement efforts.

Study Setting And Design: This qualitative study was nested within a pragmatic randomized controlled trial on social care integration in the pediatric clinical setting. We used a hybrid random-purposive strategy to sample 60 caregivers of pediatric patients ages 0-25 presenting at two primary care clinics and one emergency department affiliated with a large pediatric healthcare system between September 2022 and 2023.
Objective: Among children transported by ambulance across the United States, we used machine learning models to develop a risk prediction tool for firearm injury using basic demographic information and home ZIP code matched to publicly available data sources.
Methods: We included children and adolescents 0-17 years transported by ambulance to acute care hospitals in 47 states from January 1, 2014 through December 31, 2022. We used 96 predictors, including basic demographic information and neighborhood measures matched to home ZIP code from 5 data sources: EMS records, American Community Survey, Child Opportunity Index, County Health Rankings, and Social Vulnerability Index.
To investigate how home optical coherence tomography (OCT) influences the clinical decision-making of retina specialists for the management of neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD). In this retrospective imaging review, 15 retina specialists each evaluated 10 home OCT data segments from 29 eyes being treated for nAMD. Based on OCT data, indications were identified for when eyes should be treated, which antivascular endothelial growth factor should be used, and the specific retinal fluid and time thresholds for notification.

T-cell/histiocyte-rich large B-cell lymphoma (THRLBCL) is a rare histologic variant of LBCL. This diagnostic relies on a spherically bent crystal to capture x-ray emission over a narrow spectral range (<15 eV), which is established by a limiting aperture placed on the Rowland circle. The spherical crystal optic provides the necessary high-throughput and large field-of-view required to produce a bright image over the entire, one-cm length of the emitting column of a plasma.
