Curcuminoids, the major bioactive constituents of traditional medicine known as turmeric, have exhibited extensive therapeutic benefits. Excited by violet-blue light, curcuminoids can emit native fluorescence, making them possible to be detected with high sensitivity and specificity by laser-induced native fluorescence (LINF).
