As a desired utilization of the conversion of CO into valuable carbon fuel production under solar energy, it remains challenging due to the lack of efficient catalysts. Herein, a 3D interpenetrating metal-organic framework of [Co(Tipa)(HCOO)(HO)]·HO (Co-Tipa) with 1D open channel is solvothermally synthesized using a semi-flexible ligand (Tipa = tri-(4-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)-phenyl)amine). The tridentate bridge ligand-oriented periodicity Co-Tipa MOF is combined with ruthenium-based photosensitizers under mild reaction conditions to form an efficient nonhomogeneous co-catalyst for photocatalytic CO reduction reaction (CORR).

The development of two-dimensional (2D) layered metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) through precise molecular-level design and synthesis has emerged as a prominent research endeavor. However, the utilization of MOFs in their pristine form as electrodes for supercapacitors poses a significant challenge due to their limited tolerance in alkaline environments. To address these issues, we have developed Co- and Cu-based pillar-layered MOFs by regulating the structure of their inner layers through introducing an alkaline N-containing "pillar" to enhance the performance of alkaline supercapacitor electrodes.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates how effective alveolar ridge preservation (ARP) is at minimizing bone loss after molar extractions due to periodontal disease, as previous evidence on its effectiveness is mixed.
  • Data collected from 80 molar extraction sites showed that sockets treated with ARP experienced significantly less vertical bone loss compared to those that healed naturally, particularly in cases where there was a height difference of over 2 mm.
  • The results indicate that ARP not only limits bone resorption but also reduces the need for further augmentative procedures during implantation, with no significant impact from factors like age or smoking on bone changes.

  • Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths globally, and the enzyme CAD plays a significant role in its development, although its specific function in HCC was previously unclear.
  • Analysis of data from 424 HCC cases showed that high CAD levels correlate with poor patient prognosis and are linked to immune response dynamics, indicating that CAD levels can influence treatment sensitivity to certain therapies.
  • Further experiments revealed that knocking down CAD reduced HCC cell growth and migration, suggesting that CAD acts as an oncogene in HCC progression and could serve as a valuable target for future treatments.

Article Synopsis
  • Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a common cancer worldwide, and this study explores the relationship between a specific type of cell death called disulfidptosis and long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in HCC to find new biomarkers for immune response and prognosis.
  • The research integrated transcriptomic data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) to identify disulfidptosis-associated lncRNAs and created a predictive model using advanced statistical analyses, which was then tested for its effectiveness in understanding immune response and drug sensitivity.
  • The resulting model identified four key lncRNAs with strong diagnostic potential for HCC, suggesting that it could help personalize immunotherapy and improve treatment decisions for patients by considering their

Developing multifunctional catalysts applied in diversiform modes via advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) is a promising and attractive approach for organic pollution degradation. Herein, a novel hollow bamboo-like structural cobalt/nitrogen-doped carbonized material (CoC/N) was employed as a catalyst for AOPs, in which CoC/N was prepared in situ through calcining a Co-based coordination polymer. When CoC/N was utilized as a peroxymonosulfate (PMS) activator, the catalyst stood out prominent activities for effective CA oxidation.

The majority of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cases are diagnosed at an advanced stage. Currently, there are only a few therapeutic methods available for patients with advanced HCC and extrahepatic metastasis (EHM). Systemic chemotherapy, such as FOLFOX4 (infusions of fluorouracil, leucovorin, and oxaliplatin), has been reported for treating advanced HCC with EHM, but its effectiveness is very poor.

Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI), coupled with systemic chemotherapy, may enhance the clinical benefit of cancer by potentiating antitumor immunity, but its efficacy and safety are not clear in advanced intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC). This study aims to assess the efficacy and safety of camrelizumab plus gemcitabine and oxaliplatin (GEMOX) for the treatment of advanced ICC in the real world.

Methods: Advanced ICC patients receiving at least one session of camrelizumab plus GEMOX combination treatment from March 2020 to February 2022 at two high-volume centers were considered eligible.

We herein report a mixed organic cationic hybrid nitrate, namely, [C(NH)NHNO][C(NH)](NO) (). It was successfully achieved via combining three different planar groups: [(C(NH)NHNO], C(NH), and NO. First-principles calculations confirm that the [(C(NH)NHNO] group is an excellent cationic nonlinear-optical (NLO)-active unit.

Polymeric carbon nitride (PCN) with vacancies usually exhibits distinguished mass transfer efficiency, outstanding carrier kinetics and excellent photoactivity. Previous studies have revealed the effect of edge vacancies in heptazine units of PCN; however, the roles of central nitrogen vacancies are scarcely investigated. Herein, central nitrogen vacancies polymeric carbon nitride (PCN-NV) is rationally prepared for photocatalytic HO production with a rate of 25.

Cuproptosis, as a novel copper-dependent and non-apoptotic form of cell death, is induced by aggregation of lipoylated mitochondrial proteins and the instability of Fe-S cluster proteins. However, the role of cuproptosis-related long noncoding RNAs (CRLncRNAs) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has not been clearly elucidated. In this study, we identified and characterized cuproptosis-related lncRNAs in HCC.

As a member of the death-associated protein kinase (DAPK) family, STK17B plays an important role in the regulation of cellular apoptosis and has been considered as a promising drug target for hepatocellular carcinoma. However, the highly conserved ATP-binding site of protein kinases represents a challenge to design selective inhibitors for a specific DAPK isoform. In this study, molecular docking, multiple large-scale molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, and binding free energy calculations were performed to decipher the molecular mechanism of the binding selectivity of PKIS43 toward STK17B against its high homology STK17A.
