Aqueous Zn-ion batteries (AZIBs) have attracted widespread attention owing to the feature of low cost, inherent safety and eco-friendliness. However, the poor reversibility of Zn anode severely hinders the practical applicability of AZIBs. Separator modification is an effective way to functionalize the electrode/electrolyte interface and improve the cycling performance.

Cognitive ability plays a crucial role in adolescents' academic performance and subsequent career development. Although previous studies have demonstrated that physical activity, self-education expectations, and learning behaviors positively affect the cognitive development of adolescents, the extent of their influence and their mediating roles require further elucidation. This study is based on tracking survey data from 2,688 adolescents in Chinese households collected in 2018.

Electroactive biofilm (EAB) sensors have become pivotal in water quality detection and early ecological risk warnings due to their remarkable sensitivity. However, it is challenging to identify multiple toxicants in complex water bodies concurrently. This research developed an innovative biosensor detection strategy combined with machine learning.

The computer-assisted inverse design of photonic computing, especially by leveraging artificial intelligence algorithms, offers great convenience to accelerate the speed of development and improve calculation accuracy. However, traditional thickness-based modulation methods are hindered by large volume and difficult fabrication process, making it hard to meet the data-driven requirements of flexible light modulation. Here, we propose a diffractive deep neural network (DNN) framework based on a three-layer all-dielectric phased transmitarray as hidden layers, which can perform the classification of handwritten digits.

Endophytic fungi are commonly used to control plant diseases, overcoming the drawbacks of chemical agents. The internal browning (IB) of postharvest pineapple fruit, a physiological disease, leads to quality losses and limits industrial development. This work investigated the relationship among the effects of (An) on IB controlling, flavonoid metabolism and the endophytic fungal community of pineapple through metabolomics, transcriptomics, microbiomics and microorganism mutagenesis technology.

Objective: Metastasis of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is a leading cause of high mortality. In recent years, the role of M2 macrophages in promoting tumor metastasis within the tumor microenvironment has garnered increasing attention. This study aims to investigate the role and potential mechanisms of the ITGB4/GNB5 axis in regulating M2 macrophage reprogramming and influencing NSCLC metastasis.

Article Synopsis
  • * Traditional drugs often struggle with rapid metabolism and low availability, while nanodrug delivery systems like PEG-PLGA can enhance drug efficiency and reduce side effects.
  • * The study found that NPBer, a nanomedicine encapsulating Ber, is taken up more effectively by CRC cells, leading to greater cell death and inhibition of tumor growth by targeting key cellular pathways and enhancing apoptosis.

Nitrate pollution in surface water poses a significant threat to drinking water safety. The integration of electrocatalytic reduction reaction of nitrate (NORR) to ammonia with ammonia collection processes offers a sustainable approach to nitrogen recovery from nitrate-polluted surface water. However, the low catalytic activity of existing catalysts has resulted in excessive energy consumption for NORR.

Due to the high heterogeneity and the immunosuppressive microenvironment of tumors, most single antigen tumor vaccines often fail to elicit potent antitumor immune responses in clinical trials, resulting in unsatisfactory therapy effects. Hence, personalized tumor vaccines have become a promising modality for cancer immunotherapy. Here, we have developed a tumor in situ hydrogel vaccine (AH/DA-OR) capable of rapid hemostasis for personalized tumor immunotherapy, composed of dopamine-grafted hyaluronic acid (HA/DA) combined with sodium alginate (ALG), with coloaded oxaliplatin (OXA) and resiquimod (R848).

An eight-week feeding trial was conducted to examine the impact of dietary supplementation with glycerol monolaurate (GML) on juvenile black sea bream. A basal diet was formulated containing 24% fish meal, while five additional diets were prepared, each supplemented with varying levels of GML: GML1 (0.01%), GML2 (0.

Polymer denitrification has received much attention in the field of advanced wastewater treatment. It can release carbon source stably during long-term operation, which can be used as electron donor for denitrification. However, the response of the polymer denitrification system to the transient changes of nitrate is not sufficiently disclosed yet.

Citric acid esters (CAEs), as one class of important alternative plasticizers, have been proven to be ubiquitous in the environments, leading to an increasing concern regarding their potential health risk to humans. However, information regarding the biomarkers for human CAE biomonitoring is currently unknown. In the present study, we investigated the metabolism characteristics of CAEs by use of in vitro rat liver microsomes (RLMs) and in vivo mice.

  • Kindler Syndrome (KS) is a rare genetic condition that causes problems like fragile skin, blisters, and sensitivity to sunlight due to issues with a specific gene.
  • This study focuses on a new genetic variant found in a Chinese patient and looks at how KS shows up in other people in China.
  • Researchers used advanced DNA testing and reviewed past cases, finding that almost all patients had skin problems, and many also had issues with their nails, fingers, mouth, eyes, and digestion.

Ischemic stroke (IS) is a severe condition regulated by complex molecular alterations. This study aimed to identify potential nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) metabolism-associated diagnostic markers of IS and explore their associations with immune dynamics. Weighted Gene Co-expression Network Analysis and single-sample gene set enrichment analysis (ssGSEA) were employed to identify key gene modules on the GEO dataset (GSE16561).

The selective recovery of phosphate from wastewater can manage nutrients and realize the recycling of phosphorus resources. In this study, a novel konjac glucomannan/pectin/calcium silicate composite hydrogel (KP-CSH) was developed for efficient recovery of phosphate in aqueous solution. The amount of alkali released after the reaction of KP-CSH in a neutral solution was small (the pH of the solution after the reaction was < 9).

Objectives: To investigate the risk factors and adverse prognosis associated with initial non-invasive ventilation (NIV) failure in very low birth weight infants (VLBWI) with gestational age <32 weeks.

Methods: A retrospective collection of clinical data from preterm infants admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) in 28 tertiary hospitals in Jiangsu Province from January 2019 to December 2021 was conducted. Biallelic mutations in the GBA1 gene result in Gaucher disease (GD), and both patients with GD and carriers of a single GBA1 mutation have an increased susceptibility to Parkinson's disease (PD), but the underlying mechanisms of this association are not yet clear. In previous studies, we established Gba1 F213I point mutation mice and found that homozygous Gba1 F213I mutant mice died shortly after birth, while heterozygous mice could survive normally. In this study, we investigated the transcriptomic changes in the brain tissue of Gba1 F213I heterozygous mice, identifying 138 differentially expressed genes.
