Here we demonstrate a systematic approach to identify these proliferation suppressors, which are highly enriched for tumor suppressor genes, and define a network of 145 such genes in 22 modules. We hypothesize that the GLS-specific inhibitor BPTES will block glutaminolysis and reduce iLTS scar fibroblast proliferation, collagen deposition, and fibroblast metabolism in vitro.

Phthalates and bisphenol A (BPA) are used in some personal care products (PCPs) and containers for food processing and packaging. The Plastics and Personal-Care Product use in Pregnancy (P4) Study (2009-10) explored the association between PCP use during pregnancy and the postpartum period among 80 pregnant women and 55 infants and BPA and phthalate concentrations in multiple maternal and infant urine specimens collected throughout the study ( = 1260 samples). The type, frequency, and timing of PCP and food packaging use 24 h before and during the urine collection period was collected at 5 time points for the mother using prospective diaries.

Objective: Management of laryngotracheal stenosis (LTS) remains primarily surgical, with a critical need to identify targets for adjuvant therapy. Laryngotracheal stenosis scar fibroblasts exhibit a profibrotic phenotype with distinct metabolic shifts, including an increased glycolysis/oxidative phosphorylation ratio. This study examines the effects of the glutamine antagonist 6-diazo-5-oxo-l-norleucine (DON) on collagen production, gene expression, proliferation, and metabolism of human LTS-derived fibroblasts in vitro.
