Currently, no effective therapies exist for this ischemic complication, and the mechanisms driving left ventricular dilatation during chronic post-infarction remodeling remain poorly understood. One potential pathological process leading to ventricular dilatation involves specific compensatory rearrangements in the border zone adjacent to the infarct, which isolates the intact myocardium from inflammation at the scar edge.

(H)VPOOH consists of uniform chains of V (d, = 1) ions and exhibits Haldane magnetism with spin gap = 59.3 K from the magnetic susceptibility () at = 0.

This work reports on the synthesis route, crystal structure, thermal behavior, and Na-conductive properties of the langbeinite-type NaZr(PO) prepared by a mechanochemically activated ion-exchange reaction between hydrothermally prepared NHZr(PO) and NaNO. The crystal structure of NaZr(PO) is refined based on X-ray diffraction data and validated by Fourier-transformed infrared spectroscopy.

Experimental evidence has revealed that the dynamics of DSB ends exhibit subdiffusive motion rather than simple diffusion with rare directional movement. Traditional models often overlook the rare long-range directed motion.

This paper describes events of anomalously high energy transfer to a micro-object by fragments of nuclei generated in nuclear interactions in the environment on board a spacecraft in flight in low-Earth orbit. An algorithm has been developed that allows for the calculation of the absorbed energy from one or more fragments - products of nuclear interaction. With this algorithm the energy distributions for a spherical micro-volume in an aqueous medium were calculated.

This disorder occurs after the 20th week of pregnancy and is characterized by arterial hypertension, proteinuria, fetoplacental, and multiple organ dysfunctions. Despite the long history of studying preeclampsia, its etiology and pathogenesis remain poorly understood, and therapy is symptomatic.

The population heterogeneity generates a random walk with conditional transition probabilities that increase with the number of steps taken previously (self-reinforcement). Through this, we establish the connection between random walks with a heterogeneous ensemble and those with strong memory where the transition probability depends on the entire history of steps.

In this work, we report on a new member of KTiOPO-structured materials, NaGaPOF, with sodium-ion conductivity. NaGaPOF has been obtained for the first time a facile two-step synthesis consisting of a hydrothermal preparation of an ammonia-based precursor, NHGaPOF, followed by an ion exchange reaction with NaNO.

Here, we applied a yeast-based model to study the interactions of IAPP with PrP (associated with TSEs) and with the Aβ42 peptide. We demonstrated that fluorescently tagged IAPP forms detergent-resistant aggregates in yeast cells.

In this study, we report advantages associated with the solid solution (de)intercalation over the two-phase (de)intercalation pathway and identify the main sources of performance limitations originating from the two mechanisms. To isolate the (de)intercalation pathway as the main variable, we focused on two cathode materials for Na-ion batteries: a recently developed KTiOPO-type NaVPOF and a well-studied NaV(PO)F.

Drosophila melanogaster is a popular model organism in the study of memory due to a wide arsenal of methods used to analyze neuronal activity. The most commonly used tests in research of behavioral plasticity are shock avoidance associated with chemosensory cues and courtship suppression after mating failure. Many authors emphasize the value of courtship suppression as a model of behavior most appropriate to natural conditions.

They are regarded as promising components for novel integrated optical circuits. However, femtosecond-laser-written continuous crystalline tracks typically have an asymmetric and strongly elongated cross-section, which causes a multimode character of light guiding and substantial coupling losses.

It always contains a component of secondary charged particles, formed by the products of nuclear interactions of the primary high-energy radiation with the nuclei of spacecraft's shielding material, electronic components and biological matter on board. Generation of this secondary radiation can be observed in some track detectors in the form of "stars" formed by tracks-fragments with a common vertex.

While at a lower pulse repetition rate (~≤250 kHz), the inscription of nanogratings possessing form birefringence is observed under series of 10-10 pulses, a higher pulse repetition rate launches peripheral microcrystallization with precipitation of the NaGeO phase around the laser-exposed area due to the thermal effect of femtosecond pulses via cumulative heating. Depending on the pulse energy, the repetition rate ranges corresponding to nanograting formation and microcrystallization can overlap or be separated from each other.
