The paper presents the first experimental observation of an atypical phenomena during self-organization of dust particles into a one-dimensional chain structure levitated vertically in the plasma of a DC glow discharge. Using a laser, the third (middle) dust particle was removed from the chain of five particles so that the positions of the remaining particles did not significantly change, and a vacancy occurred in the place of the removed particle. This state of the chain turned out to be very stable, which is confirmed by the observation of the subsequent exchange of places of the fourth and the fifth particles of the chain upon the action of the laser on the forth particle.

The effect of Coulomb interaction on the 2D second order topological superconductor is investigated taking into account different geometries of the boundary in the mainframe of the mean-field approximation. The spontaneous symmetry breaking, described earlier in Aksenov(2023B125401), is found to be robust against the boundary deformation. Meanwhile, the details of the state with spontaneously broken symmetry is found to be dependent on the specific boundary geometry.

The first comprehensive structural and extraction study of a 2,2'-bipyridine-6,6'-dicarboxamide ( diamide) extractant for U, Np, Pu, Th, Am, and Eu ions showed great potential for actinide separation due to steric hindrance of the amidic side phenyl ring of the given compound. The study of the complexes of An(VI) and Th(IV) with 2,2'-bipyridyldicarboxamide-type extractants demonstrated the structure of the extraction species for the first time. Investigation of the extraction properties with the radiometric and millimolar quantities of actinides showed similar extraction trends.

This paper presents a numerical study of the structural parameters of a one-dimensional chain of three dust particles levitating in the near-electrode layer of an rf discharge or in the stratum of a dc discharge. The model considers the motion of dust particles under the action of gravity, external electric field, the Coulomb repulsion, and the electrostatic force from the space charge surrounding the dust particles. Particular attention is paid to the effect of plasma polarization around dust particles and the wake formation under the action of the external electric field.

In this work, we have proposed two new methods for the synthesis of [TcOL] (where L = imidazole (Im), methylimidazole (MeIm)) complexes using thiourea (Tu) and Sn(II) as the reducing agents. The main and by-products of the reactions were determined, and possible reaction mechanisms were proposed. We have shown that the reduction of Tc(VII) with thiourea is accompanied by the formation of the Tc(III) intermediate and further oxidation to Tc(V).

Uranyl compounds with tetrahedral oxoanions demonstrate a significant structural and topological diversity. Complexes of transuranium elements with such anions are not equally well-represented in the literature. To answer the question about the structural similarity in a series of An complexes with XO anions, we synthesized and studied 10 new U, Np, and Pu chromates with outer-sphere organic cations.

The formation of a 1D chain-like structure of dust particles in a low-temperature argon plasma was studied. A new numerical model for calculation of the self-consistent spatial distribution of plasma parameters around a chain of dust particles was presented. The model described the motion of positively charged ions in the electric potential of several negatively charged dust particles, taking into account the action of an external electric field.

The structures of the single crystals of compounds KUO(tca)(tcaH) (I), KNpO(tca)(tcaH)(HO) (II), RbUO(tca)(tcaH)(HO) (III), and CsUO(tca)(tcaH)·HO (IV), where tca is the trichloroacetate ion, were established by X-ray diffraction analysis. The crystals of II-IV have a framework structure, whereas in the layered crystals of I, neighboring layers are connected to each other via halogen bonds. In this regard, the crystals of I possess perfect cleavage along the (001) plane: the crystals are easily cut into stacks of very thin layers.

New complexes of neptunyl(V) isothiocyanate with 4'-aryl-substituted 2,2':6',2″-terpyridines (Terpy) and ,-dimethylacetamide (DMA) were obtained: [(NpO)(4'-Ph-Terpy)(DMA)(NCS)]·DMA, [(NpO)(4'-(4-(CF)CH)-Terpy)(DMA)(NCS)]·2HO·DMA, [(NpO)(4'-(3-BrCH)-Terpy)(DMA)(NCS)]·DMA, and [(NpO)(4'-(2-(COOH)CH)-Terpy)(DMA)(NCS)]·DMA. The structures of the compounds were determined with X-ray diffraction analysis. The neptunium coordination polyhedra were found to be pentagonal bipyramids with O atoms of the NpO groups in the apical positions and the equatorial planes formed by three N atoms of the terpyridine ligand, a N atom of the isothiocyanate anion, and an O atom of DMA.

The inclusion of monopyridinecarboxylic acids into the structures of uranyl halides results in the formation of unexpected structural units. Molecules of picolinic and nicotinic acids acting as bridging ligands favor the formation of unprecedented dinuclear units in two uranyl bromide complexes, which comprise two metal centers in different, tetragonal- and pentagonal-bipyramidal, coordination geometries. Moreover, the different positions of the nitrogen atom in the molecule of nicotinic acid induce significant bending of the heterodimer.

This paper presents the results of studies of a low-frequency vibration spectrum of PbCoNbO (PCN) relaxor ferroelectric crystal using the Brillouin and Raman light scattering in the temperature range from 80 to 750 K. The analysis of the temperature behaviour of the longitudinal acoustic phonon in Brillouin scattering spectra showed no anomalies in the vicinity of 'diffuse phase transition' (T = 250 K) in PCN. Polarized Raman light scattering spectra were obtained in PCN over the entire temperature range studied.

A series of new dimethyl-sulfoxide-containing pertechnetates and perrhenates of tetravalent U, Np, and Pu were synthesized and structurally characterized by the X-ray diffractometry. In all the synthesized compounds, the actinide atoms were coordinated by eight DMSO molecules with or without an extra XO anion in the coordination sphere. This resulted in the square antiprismatic or capped square antiprismatic coordination of An atoms.

The 2D triangle-shaped-symmetric topological insulator with the chiral superconducting coupling on the triangular lattice is investigated. While such a system cannot provide the topologically protected corner excitations, we report the presence of the nontopological corner excitations with energy value to lie in the first-order edge spectrum gap. Though these excitations are not topologically protected, they appear for a rather wide range of the parameters values and are robust against the boundary defects and weak disorder.

The edge states properties of a finite-size 2D topological insulator (TI) with the open boundary conditions in both directions are studied. It is shown that fermion path nonanalyticity points appearing on the edge of finite-size TI cause a nonuniform edge state distribution along the TI edge. The character of this distribution depends substantially on the edge state's energy position in the bulk band gap.
