Objective: To describe and evaluate the outcomes of ductal angioplasty with stent placement at a single high-complexity center during the period 2016-2022.
Method: A retrospective descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted, including patients under 3 months of age who underwent ductal stent implantation as initial palliative treatment. Demographic, clinical, and anatomical data were collected before the intervention.
Plasmablastic lymphoma is a rare and aggressive subtype of diffuse large B cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma, originally described in the oral cavity of male adults with acquired immune deficiency syndrome. It is composed of neoplastic ceils which resemble immunoblasts but present immunophenotype distinctive of plasma cell and Epstein-Barr virus latent infection. In children, it is an even rarer disease.

The etiologic agent most frequently identified is Staphylococcus aureus, principal emerging pathogen of invasive musculoskeletal infections in otherwise healthy children. It is important to maintain a high level of suspicion, since early diagnosis and effective empirical treatment may prevent progression to a more severe disease.
