Background: The aim of this study was to report the long-term results of the clover and edge-to-edge repair techniques for complex tricuspid regurgitation (TR).
Methods: This was a single-center observational study. A competing risks proportional-hazards regression model, using the Fine and Gray model, was performed to analyze the time to TR ≥2+, considering death as a competing risk.
Background: Complete rings or posterior bands are both commonly used during mitral valve repair, but which one ensures the best long-term outcome in patients with Barlow disease is a topic of debate. This study evaluated whether the type of annuloplasty device affects the long-term durability of the repair.
Methods: We selected 296 consecutive patients with severe mitral regurgitation due to Barlow disease who underwent edge-to-edge mitral repair at our institution between 2004 and 2013.
Objectives: Moderate secondary mitral regurgitation is common in patients with severe aortic regurgitation, but whether it has to be addressed at the time of aortic valve surgery remains unclear. With this study, we evaluated the long-term fate of moderate secondary mitral regurgitation in this specific scenario.
Methods: Between January 2004 and January 2018, in 154 patients admitted to our institution for treatment of severe aortic regurgitation, a moderate secondary mitral regurgitation was diagnosed.
This patient entered a Cardiac Rehabilitation Program after coronary artery bypass graft. Concomitant diseases and the degree of disability have been coded according to International Classification of Functioning (ICF). Rehabilitation multidisciplinary program has been started (physician, nurses, physiotherapist and nutritionist); atrial fibrillation, anaemia, pleural effusion, surgical wounds inflammation were treated.
