In this study, we present novel, vitrimeric and biobased scaffolds that are designed for hard tissue applications, composed of acrylated, epoxidized soybean oil (AESO) and reinforced with bioactive glass that is Tellurium doped (BG-Te) and BG-Te silanized, to tune the mechanical and antibacterial properties. The manufacture's method consisted of a DLP 3D-printing method, enabling precise resolution and the possibility to manufacture a hollow and complex structure. The resin formulation was optimized with a biobased, reactive diluent to adjust the viscosity for an optimal 3D-printing process.

Article Synopsis
  • - Mechanotransduction is the process by which cells detect mechanical stimuli and convert them into biochemical signals, with focal adhesions (FAs) being crucial for this function as they connect the cell's internal structure to the extracellular environment.
  • - FAs play significant roles in various cellular activities such as adhesion, growth, and migration, and their signaling molecules like FAK, integrins, and vinculin are important for heart cell development and function.
  • - The review discusses how cardiomyocytes respond to the stiffness of their extracellular matrix via signaling pathways influenced by FAs, highlighting their importance in cardiac function and adaptation to mechanical forces.
