Nigeria is presently facing the challenges of collapsing buildings and bridges due to substandard materials used as reinforcement products. The increasing use of scraps as feedstock for the production of reinforcing steel bars by steel rolling mill companies has adversely affected the quality of rebars in Nigeria. This research study aimed to appraise the chemical properties of selected brands of steel rebars of Nigeria.

Introduction: In order to inform sub-national action plan for control of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and benchmark interventions to improve antibiotic use, it is essential to define situations on antibiotic use using standardized tools. We sought to assess quality of antimicrobial prescription across all government healthcare facilities with capacities for in-patient care in the first of the 36 states in Nigeria as part of ongoing state-wide situation analysis on AMR.

Methods: A survey was conducted between 10-27 June 2019 using the Data was collected from hospital administrators and records of hospitalized patients.

Much of the study on democracy in Africa focuses on the implication of democracy on development, human rights, and security. Few have examined the implication of democracy on women's rights. To fill the gap, drawing from extant literature and relying on liberal feminist theory, this paper examines the relationship between democracy and women's rights in Nigeria between 1999, when Nigeria re-introduced civilian rule, after 15 years of military dictatorship and 2019.

Globally, environmental challenges have been recognised as a matter of concern. Among these challenges are the reduced availability and quality of drinking water, and greenhouse gases that give rise to change in climate by entrapping heat, which result in respirational illness from smog and air pollution. Globally, the rate of demand for the use of freshwater has outgrown the rate of population increase; as the rapid growth in town and cities place a huge pressure on neighbouring water resources.

Steam power plants have a considerable potential to meet the growing energy demand, but its dependence on conventional fossil fuels has hampered its viability. One of the ways to minimize fuel consumption and upgrade the performance of a Rankine cycle is by incorporating closed feedwater heaters(FWHs). The datasets contained in this paper are thermodynamic performance analysis carried out on reheat - regenerative steam power plant with FWHs using CyclePad V2.

The Nigerian government has promoted industrial development based on the area of policy implementation. The development of policy and the use of bamboo in the construction company is very significant because of the role of bamboo cultivation in reducing environmental pollution. Bamboo, in its existence, applies to the environment in absorbing carbon dioxide of about 35% and releases to the environment a high amount of oxygen.

The inhibitive characteristics of A315 mild steel in 0.1 M solution of Hydrochloric Acid with varied concentrations of the inhibitor (chloramphenicol drug) was studied using weight loss (gravimetry) technique, open circuit potential (OCP) and linear polarization method. The experimental data obtained from the methods used shows that an increase in inhibition efficiency of the inhibitor is characterized by a decrease in corrosion rate.

In this research paper the production of biodiesel from palm kernel oil (PKO) using CaO obtained from waste turkey bones (WTB) and analytical grade calcium oxide was investigated. Treated WTB was reduced to fine particulate size of <150 µm and then calcinated at 800 °C for 3 h to increase its catalytic activity by its conversion from Calcium phosphate hydroxide (CaPOH) to CaO. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray fluorescent (XRF) analysis of the analytical grade CaO, uncalcined and calcined WTB were carried out to establish their elemental chemical composition.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to reduce the number of inappropriately managed distal radial fractures with the use of a template.

Methods: A template has been developed to aid junior doctors and emergency nurse practitioners (ENPs) to decide which distal radial fractures require manipulation. Emergency Department (ED) junior doctors and ENPs were asked to review the radiographs of 12 distal radial fractures with and without the template and comment on whether the fracture required manipulation.
