Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of different suturing methods in deep third molar extractions, focusing on various outcomes like healing and patient satisfaction.
  • A total of 100 patients were randomly assigned to four suturing techniques: simple interrupted, horizontal mattress, vertical mattress, and figure-of-eight, with assessments on pain, swelling, and operation metrics.
  • Results showed the figure-of-eight technique offered significant advantages in pain reduction, swelling control, wound healing, and overall patient satisfaction, suggesting it should be favored in clinical practice.

Article Synopsis
  • The study compares four fixation methods for managing naso-orbito-ethmoidal (NOE) fractures: plate and screw fixation, K-wire fixation, absorbable plate fixation, and no fixation, analyzed through various assessment tools.
  • Results indicated that plate and screw fixation provided the best stability and cosmetic outcomes, while conservative treatment had the poorest results and K-wire fixation had good results but more complications.
  • The conclusion suggests that plate and screw fixation is the most effective method, with potential for absorbable plates as an alternative; however, larger studies are needed for confirmation.

BACKGROUND The present study aimed to compare the clinical performance and gingival sulcus width changes in partially edentulous patients using cotton and polymer gingival retraction cords. MATERIAL AND METHODS Fifty partially edentulous patients were divided into 2 groups (Gp C and Gp P) and were subjected to single crown/fixed partial denture treatment. Clinical parameters, including plaque index scores, placement time, and hemorrhage control scores, were assessed.
