Chloride-induced steel corrosion is known to be a very common kind of deterioration of reinforced concrete. It is beneficial to bind free chloride ions to reduce the corrosion probability of the reinforcement embedded in the concrete. The binding capacity of the concrete varies according to its cementitious system.

Introduction: Nursing care plays a pivotal role in promoting patient well-being and optimizing health outcomes. The nursing profession is characterized by its commitment to delivering high-quality care to patients.
Objective: The purpose of the study was to explore the role of nursing professional commitment as a mediator between the work environment and missed nursing care.
Zinc oxide (ZnO) and Silicon carbide (SiC) thin films demonstrate unique properties such as high electron mobility, thermal stability, good chemical resistance, and low cost made them good candidates for optical applications. Moreover, semiconductors absorb short wavelengths of light due to the presence of a band gap. This work's purpose is to study the effect of deposited ZnO and SiC thin films by physical vapor deposition (PVD) above two different oxides and substrates.

Restoration of contaminated habitats has attracted global interest since protecting the health of marine ecosystems is crucial. Bioremediation is a cost-effective and eco-friendly way of transforming hazardous, resistant contaminants into environmentally benign products using diverse biological treatments.

Recently, the awareness of environmental sustainability for wastewater treatment has increased rapidly in quest of meeting the global water demand. Despite numerous conventional adsorbents on deck, exploring low-cost and efficient adsorbents is interesting.

Design: Twenty- four healthy male Wistar albino rats were randomly distributed into 3 groups, 8 rats each. Group I-control: rats received a single intraperitoneal injection of saline; Group II-methotrexate (MTX): rats received methotrexate 20 mg/ kg day 1 of the experiment; Group III-methotrexate and nanocurcumin (MTX+NCU): rats received methotrexate 20 mg/ kg on day 1 of the experimental period in addition to nanocurcumin 100 mg/kg/day for 7 days.
Leptin regulates energy balance via leptin receptors expressed in central and peripheral tissues, but little is known about leptin-sensitive kidney genes and the role of the tubular leptin receptor (Lepr) in response to a high-fat diet (HFD). Quantitative RT-PCR analysis of Lepr splice variants A, B, and C revealed a ratio of ∼100:10:1 in the mouse kidney cortex and medulla, with medullary levels being ∼10 times higher. Leptin replacement in / mice for 6 days reduced hyperphagia, hyperglycemia, and albuminuria, associated with normalization of kidney mRNA expression of molecular markers of glycolysis, gluconeogenesis, amino acid synthesis, and megalin.

The aim of the study was to verify reasons for performing a procedure prohibited by international and domestic law. A cross-sectional study was conducted among nurses and doctors practicing in the UAE.

Introduction: In this search, the goal is to prepare pyrimidine-pyrazoles and study their anticancer activity.
Methods: 1-allyl-4-oxo-6-(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)-1,4-dihydropyrimidine-5-carbonitrile bearing pyrazoles (4,6-8) have been synthesized.
Cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum Blume) essential oil has vast potential as an antimicrobial but is limited by its volatility and rapid degradation. To decrease its volatility and prolong the efficacy of the biocide, cinnamon essential oil was encapsulated into mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs). The characterization of MSNs and cinnamon oil encapsulated with silica nanoparticles (CESNs) was estimated.

Aim: This study aimed to assess nurses' self-assessed capabilities, attitudes, and stress related to CPR.
Methods: This cross-sectional, observational study was carried out on 748 pediatric nurses at six governmental hospitals.
Phenols are very soluble in water; as a result, they can pollute a massive volume of fresh water, wastewater, groundwater, oceans, and soil, negatively affecting plant germination and animal and human health. For the detoxification and bioremediation of phenol in wastewater, phenol biodegradation using novel bacteria isolated from sewage sludge was investigated. Twenty samples from sewage sludge (SS) were collected, and bacteria in SS contents were cultured in the mineral salt agar (MSA) containing phenol (500 mg/L).

Closure of the pharyngeal defect after total laryngectomy had been traditionally performed with manual suturing techniques that invert the mucosal edge this technique though effective, yet it is time-consuming. Recently the use of stapling devices to successfully close the pharyngeal defect after total laryngectomy has been advocated to shorten the operative time, especially in the high-risk cancer patients where a prolonged operative time is not preferred. The present study aimed at comparing stapler assisted total laryngectomy to suture closure total laryngectomy in a prospective randomized manner.

Studies on symptom burden as a multidimensional concept in COPD and functional performance are lacking, and little is known about the effect of multiple symptoms and symptom burden on functional performance.
Methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional correlational survey design was used.
Background: The theoretical knowledge of nursing underpins the practice, while the practice environment determines the circumstances within which the theoretical knowledge is applied. The biggest challenge facing nursing as an academic field is the theory-practice gap, which is a universal issue in nursing. This study aimed to raise solutions to close the gap between theory and practice in nursing education through the eyes of nursing students in UAE.

Background: Self-care instruction in pharmacy curricula is essential given the impact pharmacists have in caring for patients in the community and their evolving role in this area. The primary objective of this study was to strengthen our current understanding of self-care education across undergraduate Canadian pharmacy programs.
Methods: A national curriculum survey and follow-up phone interview was conducted in 2019 to assess the quantity and quality of self-care instruction across Canadian pharmacy schools.
Purpose: This is a purely observational study with a literature comparison to assess the effectiveness of radial and ulnar arteries propeller perforator-based flaps in post-traumatic soft tissue reconstruction and identify the risk factors for complications.
Methods: Sixteen patients were involved with post-traumatic wrist and hand soft tissue defects not exceeding 5 × 20 cm. Defects were covered with propeller radial and ulnar arteries perforator-based flaps.
The clinical importance of subclinical, early T cell-mediated rejection (Banff TCMR 1A and borderline lesions) remains unclear, due, in part to the fact that histologic lesions used to characterize early TCMR can be nonspecific. Donor-derived cell-free DNA (dd-cfDNA) is an important molecular marker of active graft injury. Over a study period from June 2017 to May 2019, we assessed clinical outcomes in 79 patients diagnosed with TCMR 1A/borderline rejection across 11 US centers with a simultaneous measurement of dd-cfDNA.
