Diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) is a common complication of diabetes that affects the angiogenesis and myelination of peripheral nerves. In this study, we investigated the potential of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) transplantation to improve DPN by enhancing angiogenesis and remyelination in the sciatic nerve of streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic female rats. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the therapeutic potential of mesenchymal stem cells as a possiblity for clinical intervention to alleviate the symptoms of diabetic peripheral neuropathy.
