Background Lumbar disc herniation is considered the most common cause of sciatica, which is a contributing factor to disability. Surgical management of lumbar disc herniation in the form of discectomy is superior to conservative management in terms of better recovery and pain relief. However, recurrence, residual back pain, and disability are common expected complications following surgery.

We report a case caused by an unusual mechanism of a semi-automatic washing machine. This injury, on its own, involves the risk of compartment syndrome, however, this particular child came late.
