Background: Gynaecological cancers, which affect the female genital tract, constitute a significant public health problem, especially in developing countries. Some of these malignancies have known aetiology and premalignant stages making them preventable. Background: Even though the vaginal route is said to be the gynaecologist route of surgery, abdominal hysterectomy remains the predominant method of uterine removal in most parts of the world, despite the evidence of the safety of vaginal hysterectomy. The study aims to determine the prevalence, socio-demographic variables, indications as well as outcome of vaginal hysterectomy at Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH) Katsina, during the 5-year study period.

Methodology: A five-year retrospective study on vaginal hysterectomy was conducted in Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina from 1 January 2015 to 31 December 2019.

Urinary retention in pediatric patients is an uncommon presentation, particularly when attributed to urethral stones. We present the case of an 8 year old child who experienced acute urinary retention due to a urethral stone, an infrequent occurrence in this age group. Initial assessment revealed signs of obstructive voiding, prompting further investigation.

Objective: The objective was to report academic stress and prevalence of stress-related self-medication among undergraduate female students of health and nonhealth cluster colleges at a public sector university in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
