Introduction: Ischemic Stroke in young adults is a real public health problem; it's a major cause of disability, alters quality of life and has a great socio-economic impact.
Aim: determine risk factors and specify the etiology of arterial ischemic stroke in young Tunisian adults.
Methods: In this 5 years retrospective study (2015-2020), we included all young adults (18-50 years) admitted for arterial ischemic stroke (AIS).
Introduction: The prevalence of arterial hypertension (HTA) was continuously increased with a low percentage of pressure control blood pressure among treated patients. Therapeutic education (TE) was one of the inventive methods in the management of high blood pressure (HBP) worldwide. The objective was to assess the impact of TE on the control and management of HBP.

Once the radial artery is occluded, its future use as an access site for coronary procedures, or as a conduit for coronary bypass grafting or fistula for hemodialysis, will be precluded. Therefore, we aimed to assess the value of the short-term use of Rivaroxaban to prevent RAO after a trans-radial coronary procedure.

Objective: This study will provide us an overview of hypertension (HTN) management in Tunisia and the degree of adherence of practitioners to international recommendations.
Methods: This is a national observational cross-sectional multicenter study that will include patients older than 18 years with HTN for a duration of 4 weeks, managed in the public sector from primary and secondary care centers as well as patients managed in the private sector.
The rupture of mitral papillary muscles is a very rare complication of infective endocarditis (IE). We report a case of anterolateral papillary muscle rupture resulting in severe mitral regurgitation due to IE in a young man without previous heart disease. The patient underwent urgent mitral valve replacement.

Methods: Nature HTN is an observational multicentric survey, including hypertensive individuals and consulting their doctors during the period of the study.
We review the literature on the safety of fasting in cardiac patients. We examined the changes of blood pressure among hypertensive patients and the incidence of cardiac events during Ramadan in patients with coronary disease and heart failure. We also assess the modifications of INR levels in cardiac patients who take oral anticoagulant.

Myocardial infarction is very rare in children. It can have different etiologies such as thromboembolism caused by nephrotic syndrome (NS). We report the case of a 15 year old boy with NS, diagnosed at the age of 7 year, admitted for prolonged chest pain.

Methods: the study population consisted of 30 chronic HD patients. Echocardiography and Doppler studies were performed before and after HD.
Introduction: high blood pressure (HBP), atrial fibrillation (AF) and ischemic stroke are three public health problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of AF and ischemic stroke in hypertensive patients and the factors associated with the occurrence of non-valvular AF in these patients.
Methods: we used data collected in the Department of Cardiology at the University Hospital of Sfax as a part of National Tunisian Registry of Hypertension.
Introduction: reduced exercise capacity, coronary artery abnormalities and reversible myocardial ischemia have been demonstrated after arterial switch operation (ASO) and coronary reimplantation. Despite this, indices of systolic function, assessed by standard and Doppler echocardiography, are within the normal range. The aim of this study was to highlight the long-term changes in myocardial function following coronary reimplantation using Doppler and speckle-tracking imaging (STI) echocardiography.

Therefore, we aimed to compare the feasibility and safety of DRA and CRA in a real life population. We conducted a prospective, observational multicentric trial, including all patients undergoing coronary procedures in September 2019.

There are few documented cases of this condition during pregnancy, which renders unclear the therapeutic options. We here report the case of a 26 years old pregnant woman who was referred to our cardiac center for the evaluation of a heart murmur.

Several techniques for plastic repair of tricuspid valve have been developed and the published studies differ on the results of these techniques; we conducted this study to assess the results of plastic repair of tricuspid valve in a population of patients with a high prevalence of rheumatic disease and to compare Carpentier's ring annuloplasty techniques with DEVEGA plasty. We conducted a retrospective study of patients undergoing plastic repair of tricuspid valve in the Department of Cardiology at the Medicine University of Sfax over a period of 25 years.

Aim: To investigate the epidemiological profile and prognosis of IE in children in Tunisia.
Introduction: The objectives were to assess the left ventricular (LV) structure and function in regularly trained young athletes, using 2 D conventional echocardiographic (echo) methods and speckle tracking echocardiography (STE). An observational cross-sectional study.
Methods: Thirty-three footballers and 20 healthy untrained subjects were included in the study.
Background: Valvular heart diseases occur frequently in Tunisia, but no precise statistics are available.
Aim: To analyse the characteristics of patients with abnormal valvular structure and function, and to identify the aetiological spectrum, treatment and outcomes of valvular heart disease in a single cardiovascular centre in Tunisia.
Methods: This retrospective study included patients with abnormal valvular structure and function, who were screened by transthoracic echocardiography at a single cardiology department between January 2010 and December 2013.
We reported a rare case of non-penetrating chest trauma-induced fistula from the right sinus of Valsalva to the right heart chambers. The ruptured sinus of Valsalva aneurysm was diagnosed preoperatively and operated on successfully. The rarity of this case highlights the need for a precise preoperative diagnosis, the role of transthoracic echocardiography, and the importance of a prompt surgical management.

We report the case of a 36-year-old Tunisian woman admitted with chest pain and T-wave inversion in the inferior leads on her electrocardiogram.

The benefits of statins in secondary cardiovascular prevention are well established in patients <80 years. In primary prevention, these drugs reduce the risk of myocardial infarction and stroke, but their effects on cardiovascular mortality remain uncertain.

Background: Arrhythmia induced by etoposide is exceedingly rare. There are only a very few individual case histories of arrhythmias during etoposide infusion, including atrial fibrillation.
Objective: Through this uncommon case, we propose to study the pathophysiology, the diagnosis and the management of this entity.
The vagal maneuver is the first line of therapeutic available for patients with paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia. It increases vagal tone and includes the traditional ocular compression, carotid sinus massage, and Valsalva maneuver. A 40-year-old man was admitted because of 180 beats/min regular narrow QRS-complex tachycardia.
