Background: Migraine is a prevalent, chronic neurovascular disorder that incurs significant indirect costs due to productivity loss. Preventive therapy is an effective way to alleviate the societal and healthcare burden of migraine. Approximately 14% of both the global and Iranian populations are affected by migraine, which has substantial economic implications.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFObjectives: The main objective was to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of various medical therapy combinations in managing chronic coronary syndrome (CCS) in Iran, based on real-world and patient-level data.
Design: A cost-utility analysis employing a Markov model was conducted using data from a retrospective cohort study.
Setting: The study was conducted in the healthcare setting of Iran, focusing on primary and secondary care.
Objective: The main aim of this study was to explore and understand the emerging developments, changes, and patterns shaping the future of the pharmaceutical industry. The pharmaceutical industry is evolving rapidly due to scientific breakthroughs, societal changes, and technological advancements. Companies can adapt, and innovate to stay competitive and advance healthcare objectives by understanding the changes and patterns shaping the future.

Background: As rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic and progressive disease that requires lifelong therapeutic intervention, it represents a considerable economic burden on those affected. This study investigated whether tofacitinib is a cost-effective therapeutic alternative to other DMARDs for treating moderate-to-severe RA.
Research Design And Methods: All economic evaluation studies of tofacitinib compared to other DMARDs were identified.
Background And Purpose: Though controversial, many clinical trials have been conducted to evaluate the efficacy of intravenous immunoglobulins (IVIG) in COVID-19 cases. Therefore, a systematic review and meta-analysis have been performed to evaluate the efficacy of IVIG in the treatment of COVID-19 patients.
Experimental Approach: A systematic search was performed in electronic databases and preprint servers up to November 20, 2021.

Background: The aim of this study was to quantify the preference of the patients regarding biological DMARDs.
Research Design And Methods: Patients' preferences were assessed using a discrete choice experiment. Eighteen different surveys describing eight attributes were designed using experimental design methods.
Background: Ischemic heart disease (IHD) is the first cause of mortality in the world. Stable coronary artery disease (CAD) is the most common IHD. Medical therapy (MT), percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), and coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) are three strategies for the management of this disease.

Methods: Electronic databases were searched up to 18 August 2021. A random-effects model was applied to pool data from included studies to calculate the standardized mean differences (SMDs) for the continuous variables and relative risks (RRs) for the dichotomous variable.
Background: Little is known about cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) DNA methylation and transcription alterations in gastric cancer.
Objective: In this paper, we initially aimed to address the effect of diazinon pesticide on DNA methylation and transcription changes of the CYP3A4 gene in a human gastric cell line. In the next step, we studied the methylation differences of CpG sites within the upstream regulatory regions of the CYP3A4 gene among human gastric cancerous and healthy tissues.
Objectives: Currently published papers and clinical guidelines regarding the effects of tocilizumab in severe and critical COVID-19 are contradictory. The aim of this meta-analysis was to combine the results of clinical studies of different designs to investigate the efficacy and safety of tocilizumab in severely-to-critically ill COVID-19 patients.
Methods: A systematic search was performed in PubMed, Embase, CENTRAL, ClinicalTrials.
Aim: Hypertension control in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) is the worst (less than one out of ten) when compared to the rest of the world. Therefore, this scoping review was conducted to identify and describe the possible reasons for poor blood pressure (BP) control based on 4Ps' (patient, professional, primary healthcare system, and public health policy) factors.
Methods: PRISMA extension for scoping review protocol was used.
Background And Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the cost-utility of Tofacitinib (TFC) in patients with severe rheumatoid arthritis (RA) who had not responded well to methotrexate from the Iranian payer's perspective.
Methods: An individual microsimulation Markov model was developed to compare TFC with etanercept (ETN) and Adalimumab (ADA) over a life-time horizon. Treatment efficacy was estimated based on the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) response improvement criteria in 6 months.
Introduction: Oral peripheral and central giant cell granulomas are lesions with little-known etiology and pathogenesis.
Objective: The aim of this study was to compare matrix metalloproteinases-2 and osteopontin protein expression in the multinucleated giant cells and mononuclear cells of the peripheral and central giant cell granuloma lesions.
Methods: In this retrospective study, the presence of matrix metalloproteinases-2 and osteopontin in 37 cases of central giant cell granuloma and 37 cases of peripheral giant cell granuloma paraffin blocks were assessed by streptavidin-biotin immunohistochemistry.
Behçet's disease is a systemic vasculitis of unknown etiopathogenesis. Arterial events such as pseudo-aneurysms are rare and may be the mode of occurrence of the disease. These pseudo-aneurysms tend, regardless of size, to progress rapidly to life-threatening rupture.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAneurysms of the internal thoracic artery (ITA) are rare and can have many etiologies. Hyperflow is an exceptional etiology. We report the case of a 56-year-old woman who presented with a stress-induced ischemia of the left arm.
