Background: is one of the most common causes of ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) in patients hospitalized in ICU. Multiple resistance has resulted in excessive use of Colistin antibiotic, which is the latest treatment option for this bacterium. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the abundance of multi-resistance and molecular characteristics of resistance to colistin among isolated from patients that are infected with VAP and hospitalized in ICU of "Qazvin" and "Masih Daneshvari" hospitals.

Background: PCR-RFLP (polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism) techniques have been used for the diagnosis of bacteria in some infections. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of PCR for the diagnosis of prosthetic joint infections (PJI) and to identify isolated microorganisms, using the RFLP method.
Methods: During January 2015 to January 2018, patients who were suspected of having PJI after arthroplasty surgery or were candidates for revision surgery due to loosening of implant entered the study.

Objective/background: Detection of mutations in the quinolone resistance-determining region (QRDR) of the gyrA gene could determine resistance to fluoroquinolone antituberculosis drugs. The aim of this study was to detect mutations in QRDRs.
Methods: From 184 clinical isolates of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, ofloxacin resistance was proven in 42 isolates using the proportion method.
Introduction: All members of the Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex were assigned to one of the three principle genetic groups based on KatG463/GyrA95 polymorphism.
Materials And Methods: A total of 202 isolates of M. tuberculosis consisting of 50 susceptible, 121 MDR (multidrug resistant) and 31 XDR (extensively drug resistant) isolated from culture-confirmed tuberculosis patients in different regions of Belarus and Iran (Tehran and Markazi province).
Atypical fast-growing Mycobacterium species are usually identified after laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis, cosmetic surgeries, and catheter-related, pulmonary or soft tissue infections. We herein present the case of a 56-year-old man with purulent discharge, redness, and foreign body sensation in his left eye. He underwent two surgeries that partially controlled the infection but were not curative.
