Oxidative stress hurts the survival of transplanted mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) preconditioning inhibits apoptotic death in MSCs. Also, Lovastatin's protective effect was reported on MSCs.

Tea, the most common infusion worldwide, is usually sold in teabags due to the ease of usage. The increase in the use of plastic materials in the food packaging industry has led to an increase in released contaminants, such as microplastics (MPs) and phthalates (PAEs), in various food products including teabags. In this research, the abundance and features of MPs as well as PAEs concentration were investigated in 45 teabag samples of different Persian and German brands.

Objective: Neural stem cells (NSCs) are suitable therapeutic candidates. Here, we compare the proliferation rate, differentiation potential, and expression levels of specific markers in two groups of cultured NSCs derived from rat subgranular (SGZ) and subventricular (SVZ) zones.

Materials And Methods: In this experimental study, NSCs isolated from SGZ and SVZ were cultured in α-minimal essential medium (α-MEM) supplemented with 1% penicillin/streptomycin, 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS), 20 ng/ml basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), 20 ng/ml epidermal growth factor (EGF), and B27 supplement.

Age is known to be the major risk factor for both pain sensation and sporadic Alzheimer's disease (sAD). Pain management in AD is a critical health condition. However, assessing pain in sAD patients is challenging.

Aim: Insulin resistance and neuroinflammation play roles in Alzheimer's (AD) etiology. Insulin receptors (IR) are developmentally expressed in neurons as well as astrocytes. Moreover, prolonged stress can induce brain insulin resistance and astrogliosis.

Aims: Insulin signaling malfunction has recently been suggested as a preliminary event involved in the etiology of Sporadic Alzheimer's disease (SAD). In order to develop insulin resistance-related SAD model, rats were treated with streptozotocin, intracerebroventricularly (icv-STZ). Nevertheless, given the lack of knowledge regarding sub-clinical stages of SAD, the current challenging issue is establishing a practical pre-clinical SAD model.

Recent studies show that morphine possesses protective preconditioning effects in different ischemia/reperfusion models. However, there is very little information about the antineuroinflammatory role of morphine and its protective effect against memory deficit. In the present study, we evaluated the role of morphine preconditioning in a model of mild neuroinflammation induced by intraperitoneal lipopolysaccharide (LPS) injection (1 mg/kg).

Purpose: In 1994, Risser and Laskin surveyed practicing female oral and maxillofacial surgeons and those in oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMFS) residency programs to determine the factors that attract women to the field, their attitudes toward the various aspects of the specialty, their current practice patterns, and any biases that they may have encountered. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there have been any changes since that report was published.

Materials And Methods: Invitations to participate in an online survey were e-mailed to all practicing female oral and maxillofacial surgeons and female OMFS residents in the United States.
