Prevalence and sleep related disorders of restless leg syndrome in hemodialysis patients.

Background: Despite being frequently described, Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) in patients, who are on hemodialysis, is a common disease which, has not been well documented in Iran.

Objectives: The current study aimed to investigate the prevalence of RLS and its sleep disorders in Iranian patients on hemodialysis.

Patients And Methods: In this multicenter cross sectional study, 397 consecutive patients on hemodialysis were evaluated by face-to-face interviews.

Occupational risk of bladder cancer among Iranian male workers.

Background: Approximately 5-10% of human cancers are thought to be caused by occupational exposure to carcinogens. Compare to other cancers, bladder cancer is most strongly linked to occupational exposure to chemical toxins. This study has been performed to understand which occupations and exposures are related to bladder cancer in Iran.

Assessment of peripheral neuropathy in male hospitalized patients with lead toxicity in Iran.

Background: This study assessed the effect of lead exposure on the peripheral nervous system in 40 hospitalized patients with lead toxicity [blood lead level (BLL) >70 μg/dl] and compared their electrodiagnostic indices with the results of the control group.

Materials And Methods: We assessed signs and symptoms of neuropathy in patients and conducted nerve conduction velocity (NCV) in patients and control groups, then compared the results between the two groups.

Results: Average duration of exposure to lead was 10.

Evaluation of Occupational Risk Factors in Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma and Hodgkin's Disease in Iranian Men.

Background: Lymphoma is a malignancy, arises from lymphoid tissue. Nowadays, it is the ninth most common cancer in Iran. The risk factors of malignant lymphomas have not well determined, but since 20 years ago till now, too many epidemiological researches have been concerning either Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (NHL) or Hodgkin's Disease (HD).

Carpal tunnel syndrome: the role of occupational factors among 906 workers.

Background: Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is common in the industrial setting. However,there is a controversy about the sole role of occupational ergonomic hazards in CTS.
