Gastric cancer (GC) is a major global health issue, ranking as the third leading cause of cancer deaths, and this study aims to assess the quality of care for GC from 1990 to 2017 across different demographics using a new Quality of Care Index (QCI).
The research utilized various ratios (Mortality to Incidence, DALY to Prevalence, etc.) to create the QCI, which showed an overall improvement in the quality of care for GC, with global scores increasing from 35.7 in 1990 to 66.7 in 2017, and significant disparities between high and low socio-demographic index (SDI) countries.
