This systematic review explores machine learning (ML) applications in surgical motion analysis using non-optical motion tracking systems (NOMTS), alone or with optical methods. It investigates objectives, experimental designs, model effectiveness, and future research directions. From 3632 records, 84 studies were included, with Artificial Neural Networks (38%) and Support Vector Machines (11%) being the most common ML models.

Methods: Eighty cases of confirmed ocular trauma were included in this cross-sectional study. This study investigated the effect of bone grafting on hard and soft tissue alterations after immediate implant insertion in mandibular molar sites. Objective: Neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction (NLUTD), a challenging disorder, is defined by lack of bladder control due to the abnormalities in neural pathways and can be classified based on the location of lesions within the nervous system, thus investigating the neural pathways can help us to know the site of the lesion and specify the class of the NLUTD. Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) tractography, a noninvasive advanced imaging method, is capable of detecting central nervous system pathologies, even if routine magnetic resonance imaging shows no abnormality. Accordingly, tractography is an ideal technique to evaluate patients with NLUTD and visualize the pathology site within the spine.

Trichilemmal carcinoma (TC) is a rare cutaneous tumor thought to be derived from the follicular outer root sheath (ORS). It often manifests as a nondescript skin-colored or pink papule on the hair-bearing, sun-exposed anatomic sites of elderly patients. Trichilemmal carcinoma shows many histologic features reminiscent of follicular ORS-notably, its glycogen-rich clear cells, trichilemmal keratinization, and similar immunostaining profile.
