Udder health consulting is an essential aspect of mastitis control and is based on herd-specific intervention often provided by the herd veterinarian, focusing on managing the bulk tank somatic cell count. Effective communication and alignment of expectations between dairy farmers and herd veterinarians are more critical than ever due to the substantial increase in herd sizes, which amplifies both potential gains and losses. To facilitate future cooperation between dairy farmers and herd veterinarians, it is important to understand the current level of agreement in communication, and therefore, we conducted a study to describe the agreement in the perception of their communication during udder health consulting.

Methods: A retrospective analysis of ADRs spontaneously reported in the Hospital Pharmacovigilance Program database (RutiRAM) over a 13-year period was conducted. Introduction: Genetic variations impact drug response, driving the need for personalised medicine through pre-emptive pharmacogenetic testing. However, the adoption of pre-emptive pharmacogenetic testing for commonly prescribed drugs, such as statins, outside of tertiary hospitals is limited due to a lack of pharmacoeconomic evidence to support widespread implementation by healthcare policy-makers. The Spanish Consortium for the Implementation of Pharmacogenetics (iPHARMGx Consortium) addresses this by developing a clinical trial master protocol that will govern multiple nested adaptive clinical trials that compare genotype-guided treatments to standard care in specific drug-gene-population triads, asses their cost-efficacy and identify novel biomarkers through advanced sequencing techniques.

This study intends to assess the extent of the occurrence of CECs in different water types based on the literature data reported for the countries from a lower part of the Middle Danube Basin, including those belonging to the Western Balkan (WB) region and two upstream neighboring EU Member States, Croatia and Slovenia. These countries share main freshwater courses important for drinking water supply, agriculture, industry, navigation, tourism, etc, but in some of them there are low rate of wastewater treatment, impacting the chemical status of water resources in the region and probably beyond, if downstream countries are considered. The literature survey revealed 38 investigative studies reporting data on CECs in water matrices sampled in the region in the period 2008-2022.

In this study we report on efforts to develop an enantioselective method for the detection of the drug of abuse clephedrone (1-(4-chlorophenyl)-2-(methylamino)-1-propanone (4-chloromethcathinone, also known as 4-CMC or para-chloro-methcathinone)) and its phase-1 metabolites in human biological fluids. The major goal is not to only report results, but primarily to emphasize the various challenges encountered when developing a reliable analytical method for the detection and quantification of novel psychoactive substances (NPS) and their metabolites in the matrix of interest. Background: Management of syphilis, a sexually transmitted infection (STI) with increasing incidence, is challenged by drug shortages, scarcity of randomised trial data, an absence of non-penicillin alternatives for pregnant women with penicillin allergy (other than desensitisation), extended parenteral administration for neurosyphilis and congenital syphilis, and macrolide resistance. Linezolid was shown to be active against Treponema pallidum, the causative agent of syphilis, in vitro and in the rabbit model. Despite potential health implications, data on the presence of Glyphosate (GLY) and other non-GLY herbicides in human matrices remain scarce. This study aimed to develop a simple and cost-effective methodology for detecting and quantifying GLY, its primary biodegradation product; aminomethylphosphonic acid (AMPA); and glufosinate (GLU) in plasma and urine of environmentally and occupationally exposed populations from the province of Córdoba (Argentina). Different alternatives of pre-treatment, derivatization with FMOC-Cl, solid phase extraction, and final sample conditioning steps were evaluated to improve the quantification of the herbicides by a high-performance liquid chromatography system coupled to a triple-quadrupole mass spectrometer.

In the present study enantioselective high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) methods were developed for the quantitative determination of 3,4-methylenedioxy-methamphetamine (MDMA) and its major phase-1 metabolites 4-hydroxy-3-methoxyamphetamine (HMA), 4-hydroxy-3-methoxymethamphetamine (HMMA) and 3,4-methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA) in human plasma, sweat, oral fluid (OF) and urine. The simultaneous separation of all these compounds and their respective enantioseparation was accomplished on two polysaccharide-based chiral columns. The Lux AMP column with a proprietary chiral selector enabled baseline separation of the enantiomers of MDMA, HMA and HMMA while MDA enantiomers could not be separated with this column under the experimental conditions used in this study.
