Hydrocarbon potential in the Northern Egyptian Red Sea: insights from geophysical datasets and analysis of onshore marginal outcrop analogues and subsurface sequences.

The Red Sea remains a largely under-explored basin, with the Northern Egyptian Red Sea requiring further investigation due to limited borehole data, sparse case studies, and poor seismic quality. A petroleum system, regional structural cross-section, and geological block diagrams integrating onshore fieldwork from Gebel Duwi and offshore subsurface geology were utilized to assess the hydrocarbon potential of the Northern Egyptian Red Sea (NERS). The findings highlight that pre- and syn-rift organic-rich source units in the NERS could generate oil and gas, similar to the capped reservoirs of the Southern Gulf of Suez.

Molecular typing of Protoparvovirus carnivoran 1 in Egyptian cats diagnosed with feline panleukopenia.

Feline panleukopenia (FPL) in cats is caused by either feline parvovirus (FPV) or canine parvovirus (CPV-2), which belong to the same species "Protoparvovirus carnivoran 1". While FPV is widely recognized as the principal cause of FPL, CPV-2 has been detected at a higher rate than FPV in sick cats in a recent Egyptian study. To assess this conflict, the present study aimed to determine which Protoparvovirus carnivoran 1 is commonly associated with FPL in Egyptian cats.

Soybean agglutinin (SBA) is an anti-nutritional factor in soybean, possesses toxic effects by binding to intestinal epithelial cells, and finally interferes the digestion and absorption of nutrients in humans and animals. Annexin A2 (ANXA2) is one of the SBA-specific binding proteins in intestinal epithelial cells and participates in multiple cellular biological processes. However, whether SBA affects apoptosis through ANXA2 and its apoptosis-related pathway remains unclear.

Dry-ageing impacts on meat quality, oxidative stability, and release of free amino acids in striploins from dairy crossbred yearling and 2-year-old steers.

This study determined the impacts of dry-ageing on meat quality, oxidative stability, and release of free amino acids (FAAs) in striploins from dairy-crossbred yearlings and 2-year-old steers (n = 12 each group) over 21 days of in-bag dry-ageing. Dry-ageing increased weight losses, with higher % drying rates in yearling meat during dry-ageing, likely due to the smaller loin size and lower intramuscular fat content (P < 0.05).

We aimed to study the impact of thrombus type, as defined by OCT, on procedural outcome in ACS patients.

Effects of Leaf Powder on the Growth Performance, Meat Quality, Blood Parameters, and Cecal Bacteria of Broilers.

The effect of dietary inclusion of leaf powder (MLP) on the growth, meat quality, carcass characteristics, hematobiochemical profile, and cecal bacteria of broiler chicken was investigated in this research trial. In this study, 192-day-old Arbor Acre broiler chicks were assigned in a completely randomized design to three groups: control, antibiotic, and MLP. A standard basal diet was given to the control group, while the antibiotic group received 75 mg/kg chlortetracycline, and the MLP group received 100 mg/kg leaf powder supplemented basal diet.

Comparison of recovery of sheep, goats, and calves from reversible electrical head-only and head-to-body stunning for halal meat production.

Aims: To compare the recovery of lambs, goats, and calves from head-only (HO) or high-frequency head-to-body stunning and evaluate the complementary use of behaviour and electroencephalography (EEG) to assess return to consciousness after electrical stunning in these species.

Methods: Six-month-old lambs, adult goats and calves (< 7 days old) were subjected to reversible head-only stunning (50 Hz, 1 A, 2 seconds) or reversible high-frequency head-to-body stunning (RHTB: HO followed by 2,000 Hz, 2 A, 4-second stun to body). Following stunning, behavioural recovery was assessed in 21 lambs, 22 goats, and 20 calves.

This study determined consumers' attitudes towards physical and mental wellness related to red meat consumption and their willingness to pay (WTP) more for the meat.
