Laparoscopic ventral mesh rectopexy (VMR) is the standard procedure for the treatment of posterior pelvic organ prolapse. Despite significant functional improvement and anatomical corrections, severe complications related to mesh augmentation can occur in a few proportions of patients. In order to decrease the number of rare but severe complications, we developed a variant of the conventional VMR without any rectal fixation and using a robotic approach with biological mesh.

As anti-inflammatory effects of sacral neuromodulation (SNM) have been previously reported in animal models, we conducted a pilot study aimed at assessing clinical, biological, and endoscopic response but also safety of SNM use in UC refractory to medical therapy.
Methods: Adult patients with histologically proven UC resistant to immunosuppressive therapy were invited to enroll in the study.
Background: Urinary retention is one of the most common early postoperative complications following inguinal hernia repair (IHR). The aim of this study was to assess the incidence of postoperative urinary retention (POUR) and to identify associated risk factors.
Method: Data of consecutive patients undergoing IHR from 2011 to 2017 were collected from a national multicenter cohort.
Background: Using biological markers to predict serious complications and global postoperative recovery, to ensure safe and timely patient discharge after elective colorectal surgery represents a major challenge. The aim of this study was to demonstrate that C-reactive protein levels < 172 mg/l on postoperative day 3 were associated with postoperative recovery within 5 days.
Methods: This is a prospective study of a consecutive bicentric cohort.
Background: Hirschsprung disease is a rare congenital disease typically requiring surgical treatment during childhood. Quality of life and social condition at adult age can be impaired by disease-specific sequelae.
Objective: This study aimed to assess the quality of life and social outcome of adult patients operated on for Hirschsprung disease during childhood.
