Background: Intimate partner violence (IPV) is widespread and is influenced by individual-specific factors. However, the impact of spousal sociodemographic disparities (age, earnings, education) remains understudied.

Objectives: This study investigates the relationship between spousal sociodemographic disparities and women's IPV experiences in 29 developing countries in South Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Middle East and North Africa.

The effects of neuron morphology and spatial distribution on the selectivity of dorsal root ganglion stimulation.

For prosthesis users, sensory feedback that appears to come from the missing limb can improve function, confidence, and phantom limb pain. Numerous pre-clinical studies have considered stimulation via penetrating microelectrodes at the dorsal root ganglion (DRG) as a potential approach for somatosensory neuroprostheses. However, to develop clinically translatable neuroprosthetic devices, a less invasive approach, such as stimulation via epineural macroelectrodes, would be preferable.

Eye Donation Counsellor Skill Evaluation Tool (EDC-SET): A step toward improved eye donation counseling.

Purpose: The expansion of the Hospital Corneal Retrieval Programme (HCRP) and the role of Eye Donation Counsellors (EDCs) have shown promising results in increasing donor cornea availability. To further enhance EDC competency and improve cornea availability for transplantation, the study proposes the Eye Donation Counsellor Skill Evaluation Tool (EDC-SET). Restoration of sensory feedback from the foot and reduction of phantom limb pain via closed-loop spinal cord stimulation.

Restoring somatosensory feedback in individuals with lower-limb amputations would reduce the risk of falls and alleviate phantom limb pain. Here we show, in three individuals with transtibial amputation (one traumatic and two owing to diabetic peripheral neuropathy), that sensations from the missing foot, with control over their location and intensity, can be evoked via lateral lumbosacral spinal cord stimulation with commercially available electrodes and by modulating the intensity of stimulation in real time on the basis of signals from a wireless pressure-sensitive shoe insole. The restored somatosensation via closed-loop stimulation improved balance control (with a 19-point improvement in the composite score of the Sensory Organization Test in one individual) and gait stability (with a 5-point improvement in the Functional Gait Assessment in one individual).

Inhibition of Cytochrome P450 Enzyme and Drug-Drug Interaction Potential of Acid Reducing Agents Used in Management of CDK Inhibitors for Breast Cancer Chemotherapy.

Background And Objective: Concurrent usage of proton pump inhibitors and their effect on survival and medication termination has been found in individuals receiving protein kinase inhibitor chemotherapy. To investigate the drug-drug interaction mechanism between CDK inhibitors and proton pump inhibitors, the in-silico docking approach was designed by applying computer simulation modules to predict the binding and inhibitory potential.

Methods: The interaction potential of proton pump inhibitors and CDK inhibitors was predicted utilising molecular docking techniques that employed Schrödinger algorithms to capture the dynamics of the CYP450 enzyme-inhibitor interaction between proton pump inhibitors and CDK inhibitors.

Training Indian ophthalmologists in phacoemulsification surgery: Nine-year results of a unique two-week multicentric training program.

Purpose: To assess the outcome of 2 weeks phacoemulsification training program that is a unique collaboration between premier ophthalmic training institutes of India and Alcon Inc. initiated 10 years ago.

Methods: Cataract surgeons eager to adopt phacoemulsification surgery as the primary treatment modality were enrolled in an intensive 2 weeks training program across seven premier ophthalmic institutes in India.

Delhi Infectious Keratitis Study: Update on Clinico-Microbiological Profile and Outcomes of Infectious Keratitis.

Purpose: To study the clinico-microbiological profile and outcomes of infectious keratitis (IK) at a tertiary eye care center in North India.

Methods: This is a retrospective, hospital-based, cross-sectional study. One thousand seven hundred and eighty-six corneal microbiological reports were identified from January 2017 to December 2018, out of which 625 patients of IK fulfilled the inclusion criteria.

Practical use of rubric for assessment of eye bank professionals for eye retrieval and its role in improving eye retrieval process in eye banks: An Indo-American experience.

Purpose: To study the practical use of the Rubric for Assessment of Eye Bank Professionals for Eye Retrieval (RAEPER) as a competency assessment tool by organizing a workshop in two eye banks - one in India and other in America.

Methods: Two-day workshop was conducted in two eye banks - named Shroff's Charity Eye Hospital (SCEH) in India and Miracles in Sight (MIS) in America. Day 1 of workshop comprised of didactic lectures and discussions and day 2 was eye retrieval assessment done on human eyes in a wet lab setting.

Reappearance of limbal pigmentation post-simple limbal epithelial transplant.

We report the repigmentation at the limbus in patients who underwent simple limbal epithelial transplant (SLET) for uniocular chemical injury. The first case is of an 8-year-old child who presented with grade 4 chemical injury, with limbal stem cell deficiency (LSCD) corresponding to 6 o' clock till 11 o' clock. He was managed by amniotic membrane graft in the acute stage and SLET after 6 months of the initial injury.

Acute stromal keratitis in clinics - are we missing microsporidia?

To report 3 cases of microsporidial stromal keratitis presenting as a diagnostic dilemma to a tertiary eye care center in north India. Three eyes of 3 patients underwent therapeutic keratoplasty for microsporidial stromal keratitis. A decision for early surgery was taken as the patients were not responding to conventional medical management and were worsening clinically.

Demographic details, predisposing factors, microbiological investigations, and clinical outcomes were analyzed.

Methods: This cross sectional study was conducted in Delhi from March 2017 to February 2018. About 10 hospitals collaborated with the Eye Bank under Human Cornea Retrieval Program (HCRP).

Sphingomonas paucimobilis keratitis post cataract surgery: First case report from India.

Sphingomonas paucimobilis is a rare, aerobic Gram-negative soil bacillus rarely associated with intraocular infections. With only 3 cases of ophthalmic manifestations reported so far, we are presenting the fi rst case of S. Paucimobilis, causing keratitisafter cataract surgery, from India.

Pearls and paradigms in Infective Keratitis.

Infective Keratitis is a commonly encountered sight-threatening ocular emergency. In developing countries, it is a major cause of corneal blindness. Empirical treatment without microbiological work up often leads to treatment failure.
