Unlabelled: Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) continues its largely aseasonal spread with millions of cases per year. Highly sensitive, point-of-care testing is critical for rapid detection of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases and initiation of antiviral therapy to avert adverse health outcomes and reduce onward transmission of the virus. While hundreds of COVID-19 diagnostics received emergency use authorization from the FDA during the pandemic, significantly fewer have navigated the course to FDA clearance or approval.

Methods: This prospective study of the French ENDOCAN-COMETE network aimed to investigate the prognostic role of plasma mitotane levels pharmacokinetics and free or bound to lipoprotein fraction measurements during six consecutive months.
Using a nasopharyngeal (NP) or anterior nasal (NS) swab from prospectively collected or retrospective specimens, we assessed the clinical performance of the BD Respiratory Viral Panel (BD RVP) for BD MAX System against FDA-cleared or authorized comparators. Across prospective and retrospective specimens, positive percent agreement (PPA) was ≥ 98.4% for SARS-CoV-2, ≥ 96.

Hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) represents a valuable treatment option, with curative, palliative, or adjuvant intent. The aim of our study was to describe technical considerations, safety, and oncological outcomes of patients receiving HAIC.

Methods: Outcomes of consecutive patients operated on LMS-VC between March 2003 and May 2022, in two specialized sarcoma centers were reported.
Result: Forty-one patients were identified.
Background: Laparoscopic liver resection (LLR) has been associated with improved patient recovery as well as reduced postoperative adhesions compared to open LR (OLR) and could therefore facilitate redo liver surgery. LLR prior to liver transplantation (LT) is increasingly performed, LT being saved for HCC recurrence. LT is still performed by open surgery due to vascular reconstructions and underlying liver chronic disease.

Despite this unique oncogenic driver, DSRCT displays a polyphenotypic differentiation of unknown causality. Using single-cell multi-omics on 12 samples from five patients, we find that DSRCT tumor cells cluster into consistent subpopulations with partially overlapping lineage- and metabolism-related transcriptional programs.

The sensitivity of each test was 96.2% and specificity was ≥98.

Patients And Methods: NETSARC (netsarc.org) is a network of 26 reference sarcoma centers with specialized multidisciplinary tumor boards (MDTBs), funded by the French National Cancer Institute (INCa) since 2010.
Desmoid tumors (DT) are rare, slow-growing, locally invasive soft tissue tumors that often pose significant therapeutic challenges. Traditional management strategies including active surveillance, surgery, radiotherapy, and systemic therapy which are associated with varying recurrence rates and high morbidity. Given the challenging nature of DT and the modest outcomes associated with current treatment strategies, there has been a growing interest in the field of γ-secretase inhibitors as a result of its action on the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway.

Methods: In this multicenter, single-arm phase II study, patients with CRLM not amenable to curative-intent resection or requiring complex/major liver resection, and no prior chemotherapy for metastatic disease, received HAI oxaliplatin and intravenous 5-fluorouracil, leucovorin and cetuximab, every two weeks until disease progression, limiting toxicity or at least 3 months after complete response or curative-intent resection/ablation. The primary endpoint was overall response rate (ORR).
The symptomology is overlapping for respiratory infections due to severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), influenza A/B viruses, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Accurate detection is essential for proper medical management decisions. This study evaluated the clinical performance of the Panther Fusion SARS-CoV-2/Flu A/B/RSV assay in nasopharyngeal swab (NPS) specimens from individuals of all ages with signs and symptoms of respiratory infection consistent with COVID-19, influenza, or RSV.

Recent data suggests that up to 5% of patient have incomplete (R2) resection. The exact reason why patients scheduled for surgery with a curative intent to treat ended up with an R2 resection is largely unknown.

The therapeutic approach of pleomorphic liposarcoma (PLPS), a rare high-grade subgroup of soft tissue sarcoma, is commonly extrapolated from the management of other LPS subtypes. Only published retrospective data on PLPS currently serve as a guide for oncologists without clear recommendations or specific guidelines. In the advanced setting, specific systemic therapy such as eribulin and trabectedin showed promising activity in comparison to conventional therapy (doxorubicin- and gemcitabine-based protocols), which currently remains the current standard of care at initial stages of the disease.

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between procedure volume and the outcomes of surgical small intestine (SI) neuroendocrine tumor (NET) resections.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective national study that included patients who underwent SI-NET resection between 2019 and 2021.
Purpose: The optimal neoadjuvant treatment for resectable carcinoma of the thoracic esophagus (TE) or gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) remains a matter of debate. We performed an individual participant data (IPD) network meta-analysis (NMA) of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to study the effect of chemotherapy or chemoradiotherapy, with a focus on tumor location and histology subgroups.
Patients And Methods: All, published or unpublished, RCTs closed to accrual before December 31, 2015 and having compared at least two of the following strategies were eligible: upfront surgery (S), chemotherapy followed by surgery (CS), and chemoradiotherapy followed by surgery (CRS).
Background: The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic saw the rapid rise, global spread, and diversification of the omicron variant in 2022. Given the overwhelming dominance of this variant globally and its diverse lineages, there is an urgent need to ensure that diagnostic assays are capable of detecting widely circulating omicron sub-lineages.
Study Design: Remnant clinical VTM samples from SARS-CoV-2 PCR confirmed infections (n = 733) collected in Wisconsin (n = 94), New York (n = 267), and South Carolina (n = 372) throughout 2022 were sequenced, classified, and tested with m2000 RealTime SARS-CoV-2, Alinity m SARS-CoV-2, ID NOW COVID-19 v2.
The number of robotic-assisted procedures for rectal cancer is rising. The risk of this procedure when performed by surgeon with limited robotic experience is unknown and the precise duration of the learning curve debated. We, therefore, aimed to analyze the learning curve and its related safety in a single center before the development of mentoring programs.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective study of all patients with metastatic NEN who had MP on tumour tissue at Gustave Roussy. The primary objective was to assess the clinical applicability of MP by evaluating the growth modulator index (GMI) as the primary end-point.
The adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC) is a primary malignant tumor developed from the adrenal cortex, defined by a Weiss score≥3. Its prognosis is poor and depends mainly on the stage of the disease at diagnosis. Care is organized in France by the multidisciplinary expert centers of the national ENDOCAN-COMETE "Adrenal Cancers" network, certified by the National Cancer Institute.
