BACKGROUND Parotitis is an inflammation of the parotid gland, which can be caused by factors including infection, radiation, and hyposalivation secondary to systemic conditions, such as Sjögren syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, or medication. Bacterial parotitis is a rare complication that can be observed in patients with hyposalivation. However, it is also observed in elderly and immunocompromised patients.

Fish (100 ± 6.5 g) were randomly divided into five groups in triplicates (150 fish in each replicate), stocked in 20 m of aerated concrete ponds.

One aspect of such a challenge is to correct for the hardware attenuation, such as the patient table and radio frequency (RF) resonators. For PET/MRI systems, computed tomography (CT) is commonly used to produce hardware attenuation correction (AC) maps, by converting Hounsfield units (HU) to a linear attenuation coefficients (LAC) map at the PET energy level 511 keV, using a bilinear model.

If BA is not diagnosed early and the proper surgical intervention is not performed before the age of 3 months, the survival of the affected infant is significantly reduced. In 1994, a stool color card (SCC) for early detection of BA was developed and used in Japan, a country where the parents' socioeconomic and education levels are high.

Their clinical manifestations and imaging characteristics can mimic those of a pituitary adenoma thus making preoperative diagnosis difficult. Few cases are reported in the literature.

In particular, doxorubicin has no defined optimal dosage in TACE procedures. We compared low versus currently used dose of doxorubicin for TACE in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in terms of severity of post-embolisation syndrome (PES) and overall survival (OS).

Purpose: To compare safety and efficacy of combined therapy with conventional transarterial chemoembolization (cTACE)+microwave ablation (MWA) versus only TACE or MWA for treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) >3-<5 cm.
Methods: This randomized controlled trial (NCT04721470) screened 278 patients with HCC >3-<5 cm. Patients were randomized into three groups: 90 underwent TACE (Group 1); 95 underwent MWA (Group 2); and 93 underwent combined therapy (Group 3).
Background: Langerhans cells (LCs) are antigen-presenting cells that are characterized by CD1a and CD207/langerin expression. The disturbance in the communication network among keratinocytes, melanocytes, and antigen-presenting cells may be involved in vitiligo pathogenesis.
Aims: The current work aims to detect and quantify LCs in involved skin of patients affected by vitiligo before and after treatment with NB-UVB using CD1a immunohistochemistry, in addition to correlate percentage of LCs with the clinicopathological parameters.
Introduction: Routine placement of surgical drains at the time of kidney transplant has been debated in terms of its prognostic value.
Objectives: To determine whether the placement of a surgical drain affects the incidence rate of developing wound complications and other clinical outcomes, particularly after controlling for other prognostic factors.
Methods: Retrospective analysis of 500 consecutive renal transplant cases who did not (Drain-free, DF) vs.
Malathion is considered one of the vastest pesticides use all over the world. Malathion-inhalation toxicity commonly occurred in many occupational farmers. Therefore, this study aimed to ameliorate the possible malathion-induced pulmonary toxicity through thymoquinone administration.

In the present study, different algal species were examined as sustainable alternatives substrates for PHA production by Halomonas sp. Several media simulations were utilized to achieve high polymer productivity.

Accurate target localization is dependent on many factors, of which noteworthy is the meticulous registration and constant fixation of instruments during the procedure. Frequent changing of instruments' application or inadvertent destabilization of its fixation during surgery after registration might disrupt the preset navigation measurements, leading to inaccurate targeting.

Previously proposed extravesical ureteral reimplantation techniques still carry non-negligible risks of the patient developing urologic complications. About 10 years ago, a new set of modifications to the Lich-Gregoir technique was developed at our center, with the goal of further minimizing the occurrence of urologic complications, and without the need for initial ureteral stent placement.

We report our experience and measures in dealing with challenging cases of large or multiple RCCs without/with TT during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Patients And Methods: Between 4/2020-10/2020, five patients underwent RCC resection with/without TT.
Background: Tumor necrosis factor-ɑ (TNF-ɑ) is one of the most important cytokines that manage the host defense mechanism, which may play a role in the pathogenesis of COVID-19 patients. The work aims to study the association of TNF-ɑ G-308 A gene polymorphism with the course and outcome of COVID-19 patients in Mansoura University Hospital.
Methods: 900 patients with COVID-19 infection and 184 controls were tested for TNF-ɑ G-308 A promoter polymorphism.
Background: Though direct-acting antiviral agents (DAAs) therapy is associated with a high cure rate of hepatitis C virus infection, a potential risk of serious adverse events (SAEs) exists. The aim of this study was to determine the incidence and predictors of morbidity and mortality related to DAAs therapy.
Methods: This prospective study was conducted on a real word cohort of 1562 treatment naïve chronic hepatitis C (CHC) Egyptian patients, who received 12-weeks therapy with sofosbuvir (SOF) plus daclatasvir (DCV) ± ribavirin (RBV).
Introduction: Colloid cysts are benign cystic lesions located at the anterior part of the third ventricle mostly at the foramen of Monro and contain colloid material. Hemorrhage in a colloid cyst is exceedingly rare. Only 15 clinically diagnosed cases of haemorrhagic cysts were reported in the literature and 5 more cases on autopsy.
