Complete transposition of the great arteries is a common life-threatening complex cyanotic congenital heart disease in infants, resulting in the operation usually performed about one week after birth. However, little is known about the surgical strategy and experience of transposition of the great arteries with an intact ventricular septum in older patients. Herein, we present an abandoned 7-year-old boy with severe cyanosis with clubbed fingers and toes and then diagnosed with transposition of the great arteries with an intact ventricular septum, atrial septal defect, patent ductus arteriosus, and pulmonary hypertension.

Herein the lethal effects attributable to behavioral risks on CVD in China were investigated.
Methods: Data were obtained from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019.
Objective: Cardiac fibrosis is an important contributor to atrial fibrillation (AF). Our aim was to identify biomarkers for AF using bioinformatics methods and explore the regulatory mechanism of miR-450a-2-3p in cardiac fibrosis in mice.
Methods: Two datasets, GSE115574 and GSE79768, were obtained from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database and subsequently merged for further analysis.
Ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) encompasses the damage resulting from the restoration of blood supply following tissue ischemia. This phenomenon commonly occurs in clinical scenarios such as hemorrhagic shock, severe trauma, organ transplantation, and thrombolytic therapy. Despite its prevalence, existing treatments exhibit limited efficacy against IRI.

We hypothesize that intraoperative hemoadsorption (HA) can reduce postoperative allogeneic transfusion requirements and excessive bleeding events (EBE), without an increase in ischemic/thromboembolic events (ITE) in patients who have taken antithrombotics and undergone nonelective cardiac surgery.
Methods: A total of 460 patients admitted to our hospital from 2018 to 2022 were included in this study and divided into two groups: HA and non-HA.

As little is known about the modulation of EAT attenuation by metabolic disorders, we investigated the association between EAT attenuation and CAD risk factors, CAD presence and CAD severity in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients.
Methods: We included 276 inpatients with T2DM and 305 control patients with normal glucose metabolism (NGM), who underwent cardiac computed tomography angiography (CCTA) and coronary artery calcium (CAC) scoring.

We aimed to assess the associations between CMDs and depression and determine the accumulative extent.
Methods: In this cross-sectional study based on UK Biobank, participants with available information on CMDs and depression were enrolled.

An anomalous left hepatic venous (LHV) connection is an extremely rare cardiac malformation, and left hepatic venous route abnormalities not associated with other cardiac lesions do not require surgical treatment because they are physiologically benign. However, when venous route abnormalities exist with associated cardiac lesions, the conduct of the cardiac surgical repair must accommodate the abnormal venous anatomy, especially in total cavopulmonary connection patients. Herein, we present a rare case of a 7-year-old Chinese boy about 1 year post bilateral superior vena cava pulmonary anastomosis who presented with severe cyanosis and was referred to our department.
