Introduction: In case of failure of oral rehydration, children with acute gastroenteritis can be hydrated using intravenous (IV) solution. The choice of the intravenous solution itself (solutions containing dextrose versus crystalloids alone) and the glucose quantities to administer are not well established.
Objectives: The main objective of this study was to evaluate the association between the amount of intravenous glucose provided and hospitalization for children with acute gastroenteritis.

Background: Timely use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) improves outcomes in sudden cardiopulmonary arrest (SCA). Our project aims were to: 1) identify the barriers to optimal AED use in the Québec City area elementary schools; 2) create targeted educational material regarding AEDs; and 3) measure the impact of the teaching module.
Methods: Using a quality improvement in health-care framework, a survey exploring the barriers to AED use was sent to 139 elementary schools.
Background: Closed-loop oxygen titration devices have been developed to avoid periods of hypoxemia and hyperoxemia, both detrimental to patients hospitalized for respiratory failure and requiring supplemental oxygen. However, their clinical impact remains unknown.
Objective: To compare the effect of automatic versus manual oxygen titration on clinical outcomes in pediatric and adult patients requiring supplemental oxygen in the hospital.
