Background: The prognostic significance of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations in stage I invasive lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) remains debated. Improving the lung cancer staging system requires further investigation into actionable mutations and their association with survival outcomes.

Patients And Methods: A total of 410 patients with stage I invasive LUAD were analyzed for their driver mutations.

Article Synopsis
  • Karst formations in Southwest China pose safety challenges for tunnel construction due to exposed caves and potentially destabilizing water inside them.
  • Traditional tunnel construction methods often neglect long-term issues like backfill collapse and water erosion, which can compromise tunnel integrity over time.
  • This study proposes a new construction scheme using a 'plate-pile-bedrock' approach and a 'bottom to top' reverse drainage structure, aiming to improve tunnel safety and stability throughout its entire lifespan.

Background: This study aimed to establish a nomogram for predicting risk of recurrence and provide a model for decision-making between lobectomy and sublobar resection in patients with stage IA lung adenocarcinoma.

Methods: Patients diagnosed with stage IA lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) between December 2010 and October 2018 from Cancer Hospital Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences were included. Patients were randomly assigned to training and validation cohorts, accounting for 70% and 30% of the total cases, respectively.

Article Synopsis
  • * The paper proposes a new drainage structure, substituting the circular drainage blind pipe with a convex shell drainage plate to enhance water pressure management.
  • * Research indicates that this new system significantly reduces water pressure in problematic areas and performs better against sludge buildup compared to traditional materials.
