Recycling and Reutilizing Polymer Waste via Electrospun Micro/Nanofibers: A Review.

The accumulation of plastic waste resulting from the increasing demand for non-degradable plastics has led to a global environmental crisis. The severe environmental and economic drawbacks of inefficient, expensive, and impractical traditional waste disposal methods, such as landfills, incineration, plastic recycling, and energy production, limit the expansion of their applications to solving the plastic waste problem. Finding novel ways to manage the large amount of disposed plastic waste is urgent.

Constructing simplified microbial consortia to improve the key flavour compounds during strong aroma-type Baijiu fermentation.

The ester compounds play key roles in maintaining the sensory characteristics of alcoholic beverages. For strong aroma-type Baijiu fermentation, the volatile acids from pit mud microbes are key precursors for ester synthesis. However, the volatile acids can only be efficiently synthesized by the pit mud microbes in grains which attaches to pit mud.

Dynamic characteristic analysis of vertical screw conveyor in variable screw section condition.

Vertical screw conveyors are used widely in industry for elevating bulk materials over relatively short distances, but the problem of insufficient feeding and low conveying efficiency always exist in the vertical conveying process. In this paper, a vertical screw conveyor with variable screw section is presented, and the characteristics of vertical screw conveyor are investigated under the variable screw sections using discrete element method (DEM). The results show that the particle volume fraction in the inlet and the mass flow rate increase in the condition of variable screw section, and the screw rotational speed has a significant influence on mass flow rate.
