With the development of data mining technology, the analysis of event-related potential (ERP) data has evolved from statistical analysis of time-domain features to data-driven techniques based on supervised and unsupervised learning. However, there are still many challenges in understanding the relationship between ERP components and the representation of familiar and unfamiliar faces. To address this, this paper proposes a model based on Dynamic Multi-Scale Convolution for group recognition of familiar and unfamiliar faces.

Recently, functional corticomuscular coupling (FCMC) between the cortex and the contralateral muscle has been used to evaluate motor function after stroke. As we know, the motor-control system is a closed-loop system that is regulated by complex self-regulating and interactive mechanisms which operate in multiple spatial and temporal scales. Multiscale analysis can represent the inherent complexity.

Background: Fatigue is a biological phenomenon that involves a feeling of extreme physical or mental tiredness that could potentially cause some severe chronic diseases. Recently, diet therapy has provided a new alternative to alleviate physical fatigue. In our previous study, addition of () into an extruded product was shown to provide high nutrition and unique flavors; however, little is known whether this product has some scientific evidence regarding anti-fatigue property.

Article Synopsis
  • The study evaluates the role of hepatoma-derived growth factor (HDGF) in epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) and finds that its overexpression is linked to cancer progression and poor patient outcomes.
  • Higher levels of HDGF, found in about 52.76% of EOC cases, are significantly associated with lymphatic metastasis and lower overall survival rates, establishing it as an independent prognostic factor.
  • The findings suggest that HDGF could serve as a potential target for new treatments in managing EOC.

Ovarian cancers present a mild clinical course when diagnosed early but an aggressive pathway when diagnosed in the peri- and postmenopausal periods. However, the predictability of tumor progression is stochastic and is difficult to predict. In the present study, we hypothesized to examine the key pathways that are dysregulated to promote epithelial-mesenchymal transition in serous ovarian carcinoma.

Button mushroom slices were dehydrated using freeze drying (FD) or FD combined with microwave vacuum drying (FMVD), and the non-volatile component profiles were studied. The results showed that the level of non-volatile components in button mushroom firstly increased during sublimation of FD/FMVD process and then fell during desorption in FD process and MVD in FMVD process. Compared to FD products, the contents of soluble sugars and polyols in FMVD products were relatively low, whereas the contents of total free amino acids were significantly higher, close to the level of fresh mushroom.

The antioxidant and antitumor activities (in vitro) of superfine regular and Se-enriched green tea particles with different sizes (3.52 microm and 220 nm) were investigated in this paper. The vitamin C and tea polyphenol contents of green tea in different sizes were significantly different, and amino acid and chlorophyll just changed a little.

To make more effective use of underutilised resources, collagens from skin, scale and bone (SKC, SCC and BOC) of deep-sea redfish were isolated with acetic acid and characterised for their potential in commercial applications. The abundant ash and fat in the materials could be removed effectively by EDTA and hexane treatment in 24h, with high recoveries of protein. The yield of SKC (47.

Both selenium and green tea have been shown to have potential antitumor effects. Here we have investigated the anticarcinogenic effect of the selenium-enriched green tea extract (Se-TE) in a Kunming mice model transplanted with human hepatoma cells HepG2. Mice were assigned to 8 groups consisting of 10 mice each after tumor cell inoculation.

Antioxidant activities of extracts derived from sesame seed by supercritical carbon dioxide (SC-CO(2)) extraction and by n-hexane were determined using alpha,alpha-diphenyl-beta-picylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging and linoleic acid system methods. The highest extracted yield was given at 35 degrees C, 40 MPa, and a CO(2) flow rate of 2.5 mL min(-1) by an orthogonal experiment.

Two experiments were conducted to study the effect of the application of selenium on the selenium content of soybean and its products in two counties with selenium-deficient soil. Selenium-enriched soybean was produced by the application of sodium selenite and Se-enriched fertilizer. The selenium contents of soybeans, soybean protein and okra were determined by hydride-generation atomic fluorescence spectrometry.

This research was to determine the effect of foliar application of selenium on increasing the antioxidant activity of tea harvested during the early spring tea producing season using a alpha,alpha-diphenyl-beta-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging method and the linoleic acid system. The results showed that the radical scavenging ability of the tea extracts followed this order during the first 60 min: selenium-enriched tea obtained by fertilization with selenate > BHT > selenium-enriched tea obtained by fertilization with selenite > alpha-tocopherol > regular tea. Se-enriched tea obtained by fertilization with selenate exhibited the highest inhibition percentage of 84.

A method of hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrometry was applied to the determination of the selenium concentration of regular polished rice in China and selenium-enriched polished rice obtained by foliar application of selenium-enriched fertilizer in the forms of selenite and selenate. The average selenium content of regular rice was 0.025 +/- 0.
