Growth of few-layer WTe by a salt-assisted double-tube chemical vapor deposition method with high infrared photosensitivity.

WTe, as a member of Weyl semimetals, is a vital candidate for the development of broad-wavelength-range photodetectors. At present, the preparation of WTe films mainly depends on the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method. However, the chemical reactivity between W and Te is low, and the controllable synthesis of large-sized layered WTe in a stoichiometric ratio is the main challenge for further research.

A Novel Functionalized Ionic Liquid for Highly Selective Extraction of TcO.

Due to the highly acidic and high-salinity nature of the high-level radioactive waste liquid (HLLW), selective extraction of TcO from HLLW remains to be a challenging task. Traditional anion exchangers show low selectivity and unsatisfactory extraction performance due to the lack of functional groups that can interact strongly with TcO. In this work, a tailor-made binding site was constructed by decorating two acetamide functional groups on imidazolium cation to fabricate a new Tc separation material, which exhibits high selectivity.

Study on Collapse Resistance of RC Frame under the Corner Column Removal Scenario.

The progressive collapse of buildings induces a variety of catastrophic consequences, such as casualties and property loss over the past few decades. The corner column is more prone to abnormal load events compared to the inner column and outer column; thus, it is easier to trigger progressive collapse. By considering the effects of floor slabs and adjacent bays on progressive collapse behavior, the pseudo-static loading method was used to study the progressive collapse test of a 1/3 scaled, one story, 2 × 2-bay cast-in-place reinforced concrete frame substructure under the removal condition of a corner column.

Highly Efficient Uptake of TcO by Imidazolium-Functionalized Wood Sawdust.

Tc is a radioactive fission product, mainly in the form of TcO , with good solubility and mobility in the environment. The development of effective and inexpensive materials to remove TcO from nuclear industry wastewater or contaminated water is significant. Wood sawdust is a byproduct of the wood processing industry and is an abundant, low-cost, and sustainable material.
