Background: Type A acute aortic dissection, an aggressive and highly fatal disease, is particularly common among pregnant women and foetuses. This disease often occurs during the third trimester of pregnancy and the postpartum period.
Case Report: This case involves a female who was 20 weeks pregnant with type A acute aortic dissection.
Pitch-based porous carbons with adjustable surface chemical property and controllable pore structure are regarded as promising cathode materials for aqueous zinc-ion hybrid capacitors (ZIHCs), while its disordered carbon matrix and microstructure as well as insufficient surface defects often result in low Zn-storage capacity and poor rate capability of ZIHCs. Herein, a synergetic strategy of self-assembled supermolecule and enriched defective carbon engineering was developed to achieve ultrahigh edge-nitrogen doping for ZIHCs. The crystallite defects and surface structure of porous carbon could be effectively achieved through grafting electronegative oxygen-containing small molecules and high-level nitrogen-containing functional groups between modified polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon and supermolecule framework.

Here, a novel nitrogen, sulfur co-doped porous carbon sphere bifunctional catalyst was designed and fabricated by hydrothermal followed by carbonization using starch as carbon source and thiourea as nitrogen, sulfur source for HMI detection and oxygen evolution reactions. Under the synergistic effect of pore structure, active sites and nitrogen, sulfur functional groups, C-S-HT-C demonstrated excellent HMI detection performance and oxygen evolution reaction activity.

Basic Procedure: Ninety-three children diagnosed with and treated for noninfectious diarrhea (diarrhea group) and 80 healthy children (healthy control group) were enrolled in this study. Fresh fecal samples were diluted, and after cultivating bacteria for 48 hours at 37°C, we compared the number of bacterial cells in gut flora per gram of feces and determined gut colonization resistance.
The chiral morphology of calcium carbonate (mainly vaterite) was successfully synthesized by using CaCl under l-aspartic acid guiding by diffusion of in-site generation of CO and NH from (NH)CO and NH·HO. Its structure was characterized by XRD, SEM/TEM and FT-IR, it indicated that the helical-shaped chiral calcium carbonate was uniform in a diameter of 10-20 μm and height of 1 μm, and tortuous nanosheets with a thickness of 50 nm were evolved more abundant from center to edge in counterclockwise. The enantioseparation performance for racemic dibenzoyltartaric acid was evaluated, the chiral calcium carbonate showed certain recognition ability for l-dibenzoyltartaric acid due to its better matching with l-dibenzoyltartaric acid molecules in stereochemical structure.

Objective: To investigate the significance of flexible bronchoscopy in children with respiratory diseases.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed for the clinical data of 80 children who were hospitalized due to respiratory diseases (including severe pneumonia, Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia with atelectasis/lung consolidation/local emphysema, protracted pneumonia, coughing and wheezing of unknown cause, chronic cough of unknown cause, and laryngeal stridor) and who underwent flexible bronchoscopy/alveolar lavage.
Results: Bronchoscopy found that all the 80 children had endobronchial inflammation, among whom 28 children had severe airway obstruction by secretion.
The stable carbon and nitrogen isotopic compositions (δ(13)C and δ(13)N) of different cereal grains from different regions were determined, using element analyser-stable isotope ratio mass spectrometry (EA-SIRMS) as the key method. Systematically, δ(13)C and δ(13)N of 5 kinds of cereal grains of different origins, 30 wheat samples from different cultivation areas and 160 rice samples of different cultivars from Guangdong province of China were examined. The results indicated that the δ(13)C values of rice, soybean, millet, wheat and corn were significantly (P < 0.

Several studies show that vagus nerve stimulation exerted beneficial effects on cardiac function and survival. In this study, we investigated the vagomimetic effect of pyridostigmine on left ventricular (LV) remodeling in rats after myocardial infarction.

1. Myocardial infarction (MI) is characterized by the withdrawal of vagal activity and increased sympathetic activity. We have shown previously that pyridostigmine (PYR), an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, was able to improve vagal activity and ameliorate cardiac dysfunction following MI.

Previously, we cloned a pollen specific gene, zm401, from a cDNA library generated from the mature pollen of Zea mays. Expression of partial cDNA of zm401 in maize and ectopic expression of zm401 in tobacco suggested it may play a role in anther development.
