Background: Impaired hypoglycaemic counterregulation has emerged as a critical concern for diabetic patients who may be hesitant to medically lower their blood glucose levels due to the fear of potential hypoglycaemic reactions. However, the patho-genesis of hypoglycaemic counterregulation is still unclear.
