We here report an efficient DNA-compatible furan-thiol-amine reaction for macrocyclization and late-stage amine transformation. This reaction, conducted under mild conditions, enables the facile cyclization of DNA-conjugated linear peptides into thiopyrrole-grafted macrocycles regardless of ring size or side-chain modification with good to excellent conversion yields. Additionally, this strategy was employed for the late-stage transformation of terminal amines, serving as critical intermediates in the construction of DNA-encoded peptide libraries.

Objective: The present study evaluated the effects of deep acupuncture at Weizhong acupoint (BL40) on bladder function and brain activity in a rat model of overactive bladder (OAB), and investigated the possible mechanisms around the acupuncture area that initiate the effects of acupuncture.

Methods: Adult female Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into six groups, comprising a control group, model group, group treated with deep acupuncture at BL40, group treated with shallow acupuncture at BL40, group treated with acupuncture at non-acupoint next to BL40, and group treated with acupuncture at Xuanzhong (GB39). Urodynamic evaluation was used to observe the urination, and functional magnetic resonance imaging was used to observe the brain activation.

In industry, the two important nitrile starting materials, adiponitrile and 2-methylglutaronitrile, are primarily manufactured through the well-known DuPont process, which consists of a tandem sequence including first hydrocyanation, isomerization and second hydrocyanation. The precise assessment of emotional states in animals under the combined influence of multiple stimuli remains a challenge in neuroscience research. In this study, multi-dimensional assessments, including high-precision pupil tracking and behavioral analysis, were conducted to investigate the combined effects of fear stimuli and drug manipulation on emotional responses in mice. Mice exposed to foot shocks showed typical freezing and flight behaviors, but neither of these measures could effectively distinguish between dexmedetomidine, isoflurane, and saline groups.

Platelets are nucleic-free cells with a lifespan of 7-10 days in the bloodstream, playing a crucial role in various physiological processes such as hemostasis, thrombus formation, tumor development and metastasis, inflammation, and host defense. By utilizing the unique structural and functional characteristics of platelets, platelet-modified nano-drugs can evade immune recognition and clearance and facilitate prolonged circulation , which ultimately allows the nanoparticles to reach sites of disease such as thrombi, tumors, inflammation, or bacterial infections, leading to specific adhesion and significantly enhancing the efficiency of targeted drug delivery. This paper reviews the novel design and application of platelet-derived biomaterials in various diseases in recent years and comprehensively demonstrates the potential of platelet-derived biomaterials in the fields of disease therapy and biodefence, which will provide a reference for advancing the development of platelet-derived biomaterials and clinical practice.

The objective of this study was to solve instability and low bioavailability of tea polyphenols (TPs), and to explore the application of gluten protein as microcapsule wall material. Modified gluten protein (MEG), β-cyclodextrin (β-CD), xanthan gum (XG) or acacia gum (GA) were used as composite wall materials to encapsulate TPs by double-emulsion technique, and the physicochemical and structural properties of the products were characterized. The results show that the composite wall material effectively encapsulated and enhanced the stability of TPs.

In children, 90% cases of intussusception are idiopathic and the remaining 10% are attributed to underlying diseases (most commonly due to Meckel's diverticulum, polyps then either duplication cyst or mesentery cysts, and rarely due to Burkitt's lymphoma). The occurrence of acute intestinal intussusception caused by Burkitt's lymphoma in children under the age of 5 is exceedingly rare.
