Objectives: Aberrant splenic artery aneurysms (ASAAs) located at the splenomesenteric trunk (SMT) and the celiacomesenteric trunk have a close anatomical relationship with the superior mesenteric artery (SMA). The aim of this study was to review our institutional experience of endovascular treatment for ASAAs and evaluate the long-term outcomes.
Methods: A retrospective review of patients with ASAAs who underwent endovascular treatment between December 2006 and December 2022 was performed.
Metagenomics has enabled the comprehensive study of microbiomes. However, many applications would benefit from a method that sequences specific bacterial taxa of interest, but not most background taxa. We developed mEnrich-seq (in which 'm' stands for methylation and seq for sequencing) for enriching taxa of interest from metagenomic DNA before sequencing.

The pandemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) has had a profound impact on the global health and economy. While mass vaccination for herd immunity is effective, emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants can evade spike protein-based COVID-19 vaccines. In this study, we develop a new immunization strategy by utilizing a nanocarrier, dendritic mesoporous silica nanoparticle (DMSN), to deliver the receptor-binding domain (RBD) and conserved T-cell epitope peptides (DMSN-P-R), aiming to activate both humoral and cellular immune responses in the host.

However, the effects of sulfur species formed from the reductive dissolution of Fe minerals on the transformation of As(III) during the redox fluctuations processes under ambient conditions were poorly understood. Herein, we synthesized the As(III)-Fe minerals using sodium arsenite and ferric nitrate to investigate the effects of sulfur species on As(III) transformation in the As(III)-Fe minerals.

Dual-specificity tyrosine regulated kinase 1A (DYRK1A) is a pleiotropic kinase involved in the regulation of multiple biological functions, including cell proliferation and survival. However, the role and underlying mechanisms of DYRK1A in PAH pathogenesis remain unclear.

PNMA-TACS microspheres-based solid phase extraction (SPE) was coupled with ICP-MS for accurate quantification of trace V(V), Cr(III), As(III), Pb(II), Cd(II) and Cu(II). The obtained PNMA-TACS microspheres were characterized, and parameters influencing the method were optimized.

Objectives: Predicting whether axillary lymph nodes could achieve pathologic Complete Response (pCR) after breast cancer patients receive neoadjuvant chemotherapy helps make a quick follow-up treatment plan. This paper presents a novel method to achieve this prediction with the most effective medical imaging method, Dynamic Contrast-enhanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging (DCE-MRI).
Methods: In order to get an accurate prediction, we first proposed a two-step lesion segmentation method to extract the breast cancer lesion region from DCE-MRI images.
The toxic volatile organic compounds (VOCs), especially formaldehyde (FA), released from decoration materials pose a great threat to human health. In this study, formaldehyde adsorption performance of the specially formulated nanocellulose/chitosan aerogel (CNFCA) was investigated in simulated atmosphere. The physicochemical property of the composite aerogel was characterized, which had a large specific surface area (153.

The surface-modified FeSiB can improve the ME coefficient at the resonant frequency by optimizing the magnetomechancial power conversion efficiency. The maximum ME coefficient of the surface-modified ribbons combined with soft PZT (PZT5) is two-thirds larger than that of the composites with fully amorphous ribbons.

This work studied a short-time diol DES (deep eutectic solvent) pretreatment under mild conditions to fractionate the bamboo, facilitate enzymatic hydrolysis, and obtain high-quality lignin. At an optimized condition of 130 °C for only 10 min, lignin and xylan removal reached 61.

Despite their excellent environmental stability, low defect density, and high carrier mobility, large-n quasi-two-dimensional halide perovskites (quasi-2DHPs) feature a limited application scope because of the formation of self-assembled multiple quantum wells (QWs) due to the similar thermal stabilities of large-n phases. However, large-n quasi-phase-pure 2DHPs (quasi-PP-2DHPs) can solve this problem perfectly. This review discusses the structures, formation mechanisms, and photoelectronic and physical properties of quasi-PP-2DHPs, summarises the corresponding single crystals, thin films, and heterojunction preparation methods, and presents the related advances.

The clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR/Cas12a) system has exhibited great promise in the rapid and sensitive molecular diagnostics for its trans-cleavage property. However, most CRISPR/Cas system-based detection methods are designed for nucleic acids and require target preamplification to improve sensitivity and detection limits. Here, we propose a generic crRNA switch circuit-regulated CRISPR/Cas sensor for the sensitive detection of various targets.

However, its application has been limited to interventions performed based on static pre/post-operative imaging, where errors accrue from stereotactic frame setup, image registration, and brain shift. To leverage the powerful intra-operative functions of MRI, e.

Nonetheless, the poor electrical conductivity and thermodynamic instability of the iodine cathode, the complicated conversion mechanism, and the severe interfacial reactions at the Zn anode side induce their low operability and unsatisfactory cycling stability. This review first clarifies the typical configuration of ARZiBs with a focus on the energy storage mechanism and uncovers the issues of the ARZiBs from a fundamental point of view.

By collecting solid particles and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in asphalt fumes to conduct relevant experiments, we have analyzed the fume suppression effect and suppression mechanism of aldehyde modified asphalt, and finally examined the road performance of aldehyde modifiers with the best fume suppression effect. It was found that the average VOCs concentration of aldehyde modified asphalt was reduced by about 78 % after 30 min.

However, research on the effect of a TRF cellular regimen on cancer is lacking.
Objective: Investigate the circadian signatures of TRF in lung cancer in vitro.

In this work, we propose a new Dual Min-Max Games (DMMG) based self-supervised skeleton action recognition method by augmenting unlabeled data in a contrastive learning framework. Our DMMG consists of a viewpoint variation min-max game and an edge perturbation min-max game. These two min-max games adopt an adversarial paradigm to perform data augmentation on the skeleton sequences and graph-structured body joints, respectively.

However, previous studies have been limited by narrow frequency ranges, which have hindered the understanding of the intrinsic mechanisms of carrier transport in MXenes. To address this issue, ultrabroadband THz-TDS with frequencies of up to 15 THz to investigate the complex photoconductances of MXene (TiCT) films with different thicknesses are employed.

Our understanding of pyroptosis has increased over time with an increase in research on the subject: gasdermin-mediated lytic PCD usually, but not always, requires cleavage by caspases. Moreover, new evidence suggests that pyroptosis induction in tumor cells results in a strong inflammatory response and significant cancer regression, which has stimulated great interest among scientists for its potential application in clinical cancer therapy.
