Gastric cancer (GC) is a common malignant tumor and the third most common cancer in China in terms of mortality. Stomach microorganisms play complex roles in the development of GC. The carcinogenic mechanism of Helicobacter pylori has been elucidated, and there is much evidence that other microorganisms in the gastric mucosa are also heavily involved in the disease progression of this cancer.

Rapid urbanization has introduced increasingly complex social-ecological processes, intensifying the impacts on vegetation growth. Assessing urban vegetation resilience is critical to understanding urban vegetation growth. However, the current understanding of vegetation resilience in highly urbanized areas, especially regarding the influence of human activities, remains limited, constraining efforts toward sustainable urban vegetation management.

Microalgae are recognized for their potential in the bioremediation of acid mine drainage (AMD), despite the challenges posed by AMD's low pH, high heavy metal content, and oligotrophic conditions. However, the impact of AMD chemoautotrophic microorganisms on microalgal growth and remediation efforts within AMD has been largely overlooked. This study aims to elucidate the effects the chemoautotrophic microorganism, Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans, on the growth activity and metabolism of acid-tolerant microalgae, and to explore the molecular mechanisms of microalgal response.

Anthropogenic coal mining and water consumption affect groundwater storage (GWS) and impose substantial pressure on water resources. However, the responses and mechanisms of GWS to these activities and climate change are not well understood. In this study, the impacts of anthropogenic coal mining, water consumption, vegetation restoration and climate change on GWS in the Yellow River Basin (YRB) of China were quantitatively assessed, based on the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) satellite data, land surface model simulations, Random Forest (RF) model, normalized vegetation index data, the statistical information in yearbooks and bulletins, and in situ observations.

Background And Objectives: To find the association between preoperative computed tomography (CT) features combined with tumor marker and known high-risk factors of small nonfunctioning pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (NF-PNETS), thereby selecting appropriate treatment strategy for these patients.

Method: One hundred fourteen patients with NF-PNETs< 20 mm who underwent surgical operation were retrospectively analyzed from 2009 to 2023. Univariate and multivariable logistic regression analyses were performed to find the relationship between preoperative clinical psychological and CT features and high-risk factors.

Diagnoses of CNS malignancies in the primary and metastatic setting have significantly advanced in the last decade with the advent of molecular pathology. Using a combination of immunohistochemistry, next-generation sequencing, and methylation profiling integrated with traditional histopathology, patient prognosis and disease characteristics can be understood to a much greater extent. This has recently manifested in predicting response to targeted drug therapies that are redefining management practices of CNS tumours.

Background: In recent years, due to the continuous increase of China's aging population and the decline of birth rate, China 's population base has declined sharply, and the fertility problem of young people has attracted much attention from scholars. Therefore, this study aims to comprehensively analyze the fertility intentions of young people of childbearing age and their influencing factors, explore the reasons for China's low fertility rate, and provide a reasonable theoretical basis for the formulation of subsequent fertility-related policies.

Methods: A systematic literature search was conducted from January 2012 to September 2023 through the databases PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, CNKI, Wanfang, and VIP using keywords including fertility desire, fertility intention, fertility plan, fertility purpose, fertility motivation, youth, urban youth, school-age youth, childbearing age youth in Chinese; and fertility desire, fertility intention, fertility plan, fertility willingness, youth, young people, child-bearing youth, and school-age youth in English.

The Tibetan Plateau (TP) is significantly influencing the climate and environmental evolution regionally and globally. Adjacent to the northwestern TP, the Taklimakan Desert (TD) experiences the unique pattern of dust aerosol variations due to the deep basin terrain. However, systematic studies on how TP climate change affects TD dust aerosol variations are lacking.

Objective: Cervical squamous cell carcinoma (CSCC) has a poor prognosis due to persistent HPV infection. LncRNA TPRG1-AS1 is linked to regulating the development of many cancers, so the regulatory mechanism and prognostic value of TPRG1-AS1 in CSCC were explored.

Methods: 138 patients with cervical cancer were included.

In sodium-ion batteries (SIBs), the performance of a single solvent often does not meet actual requirements and a cosolvent or nonsolvating solvent is needed. However, the effect of these electrolyte additives on the solvation structure and dynamics of Na in SIBs is yet to be fully understood. Herein, electrolyte structural dynamics are examined for NaPF in dimethyl carbonate (DMC) with 1,1,2,2-tetrafluoro-2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy ethane (HFE) as the nonsolvating solvent or propylene carbonate (PC) as the cosolvent using steady-state and time-resolved infrared (IR) spectroscopies.

Background: Diagnosis of Crohn's disease (CD) can pose challenges, particularly when perianal fistula is the initial presentation.

Aim: To develop and validate a predictive model, establishing a visual web tool for early diagnosis of CD in patients presenting with perianal fistula.

Methods: This retrospective, multicentre validation study involved patients diagnosed with either perianal fistulising CD or cryptoglandular fistula who underwent initial perianal fistula surgery subsequent to rectal MRI at three Chinese centres from September 2016 to December 2020.

In previous research, the prevailing assumption was that Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) precisely depicted the interconnections among nodes within the graph's architecture. Nonetheless, real-world graph datasets are often rife with noise, elements that can disseminate through the network and ultimately affect the outcome of the downstream tasks. Facing the complex fabric of real-world graphs and the myriad potential disturbances, we introduce the Sparse Graph Dynamic Attention Networks (SDGAT) in this research.

This study addresses the limitations of traditional sports rehabilitation, emphasizing the need for improved accuracy and response speed in real-time action detection and recognition in complex rehabilitation scenarios. We propose the STA-C3DL model, a deep learning framework that integrates 3D Convolutional Neural Networks (C3D), Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks, and spatiotemporal attention mechanisms to capture nuanced action dynamics more precisely. Experimental results on multiple datasets, including NTU RGB + D, Smarthome Rehabilitation, UCF101, and HMDB51, show that the STA-C3DL model significantly outperforms existing methods, achieving up to 96.

The tensile properties of fiber metal laminates were examined at temperatures ranging from 30 °C to 180 °C in this paper through the integration of numerical simulation techniques, experimental measurements, and digital image correlation techniques. The laminates were initially modeled using finite elements, and the failure behavior of porous basalt-fiber-reinforced aluminum alloy plates was numerically simulated. Consequently, metal fiber laminate stress-strain responses were varied by numerous tensile experiments conducted at varying temperatures.
